"We love Purbani and wouldnât eat Indian locally elsewhere. The food is always delicious, the staff is always really friendly and positive, and we always have a great time. Itâs good value for money, too, and quiet enough that you can chat. Canât recommend enough."

"I ordered a turkey gobbler sub and was surprised to find it made with smoked turkey and without jellied cranberry sauce. Unfortunately, the sub was quite disappointing and very salty. My friend paid for it, so I didn't voice my concerns at the time, but the shop really needs to improve their sub-making skills. I used to run a deli, and our turkey gobblers were definitely worth reordering, unlike this one."

"The appetizers are excellent—definitely try the shrimp or prawn. The highlight of the meal was the homemade baklava, which was wonderfully moist on the bottom and crispy on top. They serve Efes, a Turkish beer, on tap, as well as house raki (a traditional alcoholic drink). Please note that they do not accept American Express."

"Our first time in a Turkish restaurant and we will be back! The waiter who served us was friendly and helped us decide on what to choose from the huge selection of dishes. The food was prepared behind by the most relaxed looking chef I’ve ever seen, he was seated at his bench quietly prepping all the dishes. All in all a great experience and as I said, we will be back!"

"What a meal and great service, I'm not one for choosing Indian food all the time so pretty unsure what I wanted when I visited Calcutta Club. Sonia was our waitress and very welcoming and also helped us choose our main meals, the lamb platter to share is amazing. Stacey asked for madras and was asked if she'd prefer another dish similar and took it great advice from Sonia, sorry cany rememberwhat it was . I had the chicken tandoori and was also asked to try some sauce with it again amazing. We're a good 2 hours drive from here and try to get over for a bit of a break every few weeks The restaurant is amazing and we will be visiting here again. Do you self a favour and make sure you book, I always book when looki g on Google for places to eat."

"I recently dined at this restaurant for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. I had dinner here and the average price per person was between £30-40. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect 5 out of 5. Highly recommend trying the Baklava, Ottoman Plater, and Chocolate Baklava."

"This restaurant is fantastic! The staff is always friendly, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The pizza is outstanding, and the vegan broccoli salad is a must-try. I do wish there were a few more vegan options, but you won't be disappointed with any of the dishes here. It's a perfect spot for couples, groups, families, and seniors. It's rare to find a place that excels in every aspect."

"I ordered the largest sashimi platter last night AS A TAKEAWAY. 42 pieces. Also a soft shell crab tempura. I was more than disappointed. The tuna was not fresh and it was brown. The texture was so wrong. Not that I tried it but I did pick it up. Also they included 9 ‘cut down the centre prawns’ which were not raw. Everything on a platter of sashimi should be raw! The scallops weren’t sliced they were chunks. Not good. I don’t want to mull over the call to the restaurant or what was said. That isn’t what this review is about. The reason I’m writing this is because I was called by a charming lady this afternoon, who’s name I didn’t get. After identifying herself as being from the restaurant she asked if I was home. I wasn’t. She said she was very very sorry about last night’s delivery, which Uber Eats refunded) The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the prawns and the scallops. She told me they had delivered some new tuna sashimi and vegetable gyoza, they were outside my front door! I was very touched by the gesture. I’m home now and the tuna is beautiful as are the gyoza. SO THANK YOU FOR TURNING AN UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE into an excellent one. Caring thoughtful customer service. I will return."

"Absolutely fantastic Greek restaurant! I would give it a perfect score of 10/10. They were extremely accommodating and mindful of gluten-free options. The salmon I had was the best I've ever tasted! Everything was delicious—the Greek salad and tzatziki were amazing, and the cocktails were great too. The atmosphere truly feels like a cozy little Greek tavern."

"We came in the afternoon before we were able to check in to our Airbnb. We had a terrible time trying to get on their difficult wifi and the blond woman at the bar was unfriendly and not helpful. The other younger girl seemed nicer but didn’t seem to be able to communicate well with the customers. Either that or she was immensely shy not ideal for a pub! The entire time we sat there no one ever came up to us to ask if we wanted another drink (which we would have! nor did the two staff seem to even bother to notice we were still there! The woman sitting down a bit from us had a Sunday Roast that did look impressive so there’s that! Won’t return here next time in London."

"Went here last night at the tail end of an office Christmas party and we stumbled (quite literally inside having been turned away at a restaurant next door. It was past closing though their OPEN sign was still on. Anyway! Although Oppa was just about to close, they took us in, a group of 6, and stayed open until we finished. When I realized we were in a Korean restaurant, I was so excited; I've been searching for a good Korean restaurant in the midlands. My colleagues were much less so as they had never had Korean food and were unfamiliar with everything on the menu. I ordered for everyone and despite some of them being difficult one colleague kept asking for samosas, aah! the service was faultless. Staff were super attentive and helpful, patient, friendly, good fun, and extremely accommodating. Just perfect! And they stayed open for us quite late without rushing us out, what more can you ask for? Ok, so the food. It was SO so good and I'm already planning to go back. The kimchi was bang on how I like (a big deciding factor for me strongly fermented/pickled and spicy, and fresh. All the bulgogi (marinated meat , dolsot bibimbap (sizzling rice bowl , jjigae (stew/ramen style soups , seafood and extras that were served tasted just like I had hoped they would. Presentation was great everything looked properly appetizing and vegetables and seafood, etc were all clean and fresh. I was too busy stuffing my face and enjoying the moment and company to take photos, but the few photos I've seen on here are true to life. Other things people might be interested in: This restaurant is kitted out to cook Korean BBQ at/in/on your table. It is spacious, with lots of tables and room to move around. Decor is tasteful and minimal. It is clean and indeed I was warned by staff when going upstairs to the ladies' to be careful as the stairs and the toilets had all just been cleaned (and clean they were! . If you're looking for good Korean food, look no further. If you're looking to try Korean food for the first time, this is a great place to start. Go for it! Might see you there, if I can help it :D [I've copied this review over from where I originally posted it because this listing and the one for OPPA in Leicester are the same exact restaurant, FYI]"

"A quiet, clean pub in the Wetherspoon's chain, Goodman's Field has little or no character, and about as much charm as a variable rate ISA. However, we shouldn't really hold this against it since what it lacks in charm it also lacks in offence. It's a large, quiet, modern pub situated just round the corner from Tower Gateway. Like most Wetherspoons, it has themed kitchen nights, such as a Curry Night on Thursdays. The curry is bland but satisfying par for the course really, and is also very reasonably priced with generous portions. Where this pub does excel itself though, is in the selection of guest beers, ales and bitters. Ranging from an American bitter that weighs in at a hefty 8% abv (which while tasty does resemble a pint of mildly carbonated whisky) to a Dutch beer made with chocolate (which does taste as weird as it sounds), it's worth seeing what's on offer. If you fancy a quiet drink as you pass through the area, possibly as a resting spot before moving on, this large, quiet comfortable pub is probably right up your street. There is a plethora of seating, with a comfy area boasting several large leather armchairs, and two or three flat screen televisions showing sports at a low volume, when there is sport to show. Add to that the fact the pub is open on Sundays in an area of London usually devoid of life, and this pub is ideal when you have a large group of folk looking for a drink, and the company is more important than the venue. Be aware though there are better pubs in the area, such as The Dickens Inn, but Goodman's Field does fill a gap in the pub market, playing to those who don't like the hustle and bustle of a busy, mostly standing room only pub, but would like to sit down with friends, and chat over an inoffensive curry and a pint of beer with something interesting in it."

"I read a few of the other reviews and can only say that I think action has been taken on what's been said. The barman (who yes, looks a bit like Elvis was nice, the food was great (we had two fish and chips, even though the kitchen had just closed, he made a cheerful successful attempt to persuade the cooking staff to stay and the food was really good! . It's more of a proper London pub (the photo with the red bar stools is from somewhere else with oak panel walls and a bit of a swirly carpet, and in that vein, you are reliant on good conversation, good beer and good food to have a good time. No noisy jukebox, no rattling acoustics, slightly sticky tables (but they're clean . Comfortable seating, lots of space, reasonable prices. What more could you want? I'd really recommend it for people who want a slice of genuine London, rather than a slice of manufactured London. Thanks guys I come infrequently, but every time I do come, it's a relief from the busy, crowded, other places in the area!"
