"I visited Milan Indian Cuisine with friends on Friday evening (14 July 2023), as we were staying nearby in the City, for the T20 Cricket Finals Day at Edgbaston. It was new to me, but somewhere my friends had visited before and had praise for and now I can see why! I have a nut allergy, and although my options on Indian menu’s are limited, I have to be extremely careful. I made the staff aware of this as we took to our table, and from the start they were hugely accommodating, helping me with what was nut free, they stayed with me until I had made my order. Really was exceptional! I had a starter of Grilled Salmon, which was very nice, and then a main of Lamb Rogan Josh, with Pilau Rice and a garlic naan. A dish I usually go for to be safe, it was one of the best I’ve had! Full of meat and flavour! A huge thanks, particularly to Nico, who’s service was fantastic! We shall be visiting next year for the Cricket finals!"

"A real gem above Bearwood high street. This wasn't our first visit and certainly won't be our last. Always good friendly and quick service. On this occasion there was a pretty large group at one end and as we were being sat down we were asked if we minded the noise or wanted to sit away from them. We opted for near them as there is nothing wrong with people having fun, just was nice the waiter had considered us. Food as expected absolutely delicious and very generous portions. We order two starters, a rice, nann bread and one curry dish between two and it is more than enough. Price is very reasonable too. Looking forward to our next date night."

"Birmingham is known as one of the two capitals of Indian cuisine in England, alongside Bradford, and is famous for its Balti dishes, with countless Balti houses throughout the city. Amidst this wealth of delicious and affordable Indian food, Pushkar stands out as a more upscale and pricier option that has still managed to build a loyal following. What sets Pushkar apart is its elegant atmosphere, the exceptional quality of its ingredients, and its inventive dessert menu. My first visit to Pushkar happened by chance while I was staying near Brindley Place. Passing by, I decided to take a look at the menu and was intrigued by the duck masala. It surpassed my expectations—the rich tomato-based curry was bursting with flavors of garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red chilies. It was perfectly complemented by basmati rice and a side of raita. Since then, I’ve returned several times and enjoyed every dish I’ve tried. The murgh korma is a standout, offering a luxurious, creamy, and nutty curry that’s ideal if you prefer milder spice. The creative desserts are a particular highlight for me. The gajar ka halwa tart served with pistachio ice cream is my favorite. While the garam masala brûlée didn’t differ much from a classic crème brûlée, with just a subtle hint of cinnamon, it was still very enjoyable. Another unique treat is the chocomosa—a filo samosa filled with chocolate and roasted almonds, accompanied by cappuccino ice cream. I’m left wondering why no one else has thought to create a chocolate samosa before, and how I had never tried one until now. If you find yourself in Birmingham, a visit to Pushkar is a must. The restaurant truly lives up to its accolades, including the 2015 British Curry Award, the 2015 Best of Broad Street Award, and the 2015 English Curry Award."

"The kitchen staff at this restaurant does excellent work, producing delicious food. However, there is some laziness among the junior staff."

"I hadn't been here since this changed from Last Days of the Raj which I had stopped going to after we had food poisoning. However, the change, after visit seems to be good. At least as far as the takeaway I had. The claim to not serve oily food was well founded for the dish I tried, though it wasn't quite as tasty as some other places I know, I will definitely be returning to try again."

"We were looking to try a new restaurant for dinner tonight, and after passing by the New Talbot several times, we finally decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed! The service from the staff was excellent, and the food was fantastic. Our meals arrived quickly and were served hot and fresh! As curry lovers who have dined at some well-known places, I can confidently say that the New Talbot ranks among the best. We highly recommend it, and we can’t wait to return to try the mixed grill. Thanks, Jo and Neil! x"

"Good food and excellent service but know you will be dining in the brightly-lit basement breakfast room of a Doubletree Hotel, with your main dishes served in Corell cereal bowls. Most diners are business travelers on their own. Not a good place for a special occasion dinner but ideal for good food at a reasonable (London) price. Curries were too mild for our palates but we were told we could have asked for spicier. It was clearly a concern of the staff that it had been TOO spicy, oddly."

"I have visited this restaurant a few times. The food is good and the staff are very friendly. However, on this occasion, the service was slow due to a lack of staff. There was only one bartender, so drinks were taking a while to arrive. Adding another member to the waiting staff would greatly improve the service. Despite this, I would definitely return."
