"My boyfriend and I had dinner at Lovage on Valentine's Day and the food was fantastic, some of the best Indian food we've ever had. The service was fantastic for friendliness and efficiency. The music was also lovely and very relaxing, without being too loud or overbearing. I highly recommend eating at Lovage."

"I'm a sucker for the sizzle of tandoori on a hot serving plate so it was no surprise that as soon I saw a Chicken Tikka starter 3.70) coming out of the serving hatch, I'd be ordering the same myself. But for all the sizzle and smoke in New Jomuna (and there is a lot of smoke in the upper section where the food comes out) there wasn't much taste. "Booked an early curry (7.30pm) for myself and 2 friends. Restaurant decoration was good. Ambience was peaceful and not too noisy. We had poppadoms and a couple of drinks as starters and then had a main course each with three side dishes and a keema naan to share between us. The food was good and service was reasonably prompt. We enjoyed the evening and the food was good value and not overly expensive. The only negative part of the experience was the rather stern manner of one of the staff which didn't feel particularly welcoming. Having said that, everyone was perfectly polite and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again. The central location made it very accessible and easy to reach."

"the only restaurant we feel is clean, safe and or accommodating enough throughout, Maidstone Kent. Highly recommended. If you have special dietary needs like IBD, gluten or other intolerances, call in advance to see how they can possibly accommodate. They did for us and it really blew us away because we really struggle to find take away that doesn't make my partner ill."

"My partner has been using this restaurant for years 15 to be exact) and we also often have takeaways too. However on the last 3 occasions that we visited we were met with extreme rudeness and arrogance which is a shame because the food is excellent. It seems to be the man at the front desk every time. The last visit we arrived at 2205 on a Monday and was told they were closing the door timings clearly state 2330 as the closing time). But we could have a takeaway which wasn’t ideal but agreed but then we were told we had to wait outside. I understand being a nurse) there is restrictions due to Covid but there is no difference to eating in and sitting waiting for a takeaway and it was the way he did it too and with a smug look. Further more my partner and I have visited with her elderly father on 2 occasions who wanted to pay for the meal and when he worked out the bill a retired math teacher) he had been tried to be over charged considerable by pounds not pence on both occasions and even tried to argue the fact! But each time we have given the benefit of the doubt probably because this is the only restaurant locally. But on reflection from our last visit it seems Mr Arrogance at the front has the attitude that as he’s the only restaurant in the area he can be as rude and complacent about it as he wants. So we have have come to a decision never to use this place again even though the food is excellent, may the idiot at the front needs to be as good at his role as the chef is. We will be using either the little take away down the road in future and for meals out we found an excellent Gurkha restaurant in Burton which is worth the taxi ride rather than putting money his way again, which is often twice a week. Never again!"
