"Arrived without booking for Sunday lunch. Very welcoming and pleasant staff. Also hard working. Lovely surroundings. Sunday lunch… I would have chosen smoked salmon starter on menu but not available. Battered mushrooms delicious as was wheaten bread. My husbands roast silverside was melt in your mouth delicious. I had a generous portion baked cod which was delicious . The supposedly sundried and white wine sauce… I’m not sure about… . The disappointment was the vegetables. Carrot and parsnip sticks which were bland and tasteless! I’m wondering Were they frozen and plunged into hot water. Abundance of tasty mash and roasties. Would have liked some more quality veg. Would be prepared to return.. but please improve the veg! Only instant coffee available so we declined that. A first visit .. I would return."
