"This is our third visit for an overnight stay but the first since it had new owners. My wife and I stayed for one night with an evening meal and breakfast. The room staff and breakfast were all very good. Unfortunately our evening meal was disappointing. Our starters and my steak were all good. However my wife ordered triple cut chips and fish. The fish was fine but the chips were soggy and very dark brown. They tasted like they had been cooked in old oil that was overdue for a change. These were so soft and not at all like triple cooked chips. We raised the issue with the waitress who replaced them without any fuss. Unfortunately she did not listen to the problem and brought another bowl that were just as bad. Not wanting to let this spoil our meal we did not complain further. I did however ask the waitress to inform the manager of this problem as we were paying the bill. Overall our visit was very nice but could have been much better if it was not for the issue over dinner."
