"Vwry good welcome and a lovely place but service was far to slow,the food was only average and very shocked when a piece of string was found in my daughters beef, which I did tell the head waiter about. The sweet were poor valve and when asked if cold custard could be warmed up as it was cold the answer was no. We were given discount for poor experience but will not return. Plus poorly signed posted and had to park a fare way which was difficult for my elderly father. So rates out of it"

"This was supposed to be a special 88th birthday lunch for my father. Firstly our drinks were forgotten about and took forever to arrive. The starters were very good and arrived together . We then waited an age for the main courses..... my fathers chicken dish arrived and we told him to start as it would get cold . Our salads failed to arrive despite asking several times if they would be arriving anytime soon . We were then told my father had been given his meal wrongly and it had been meant for someone else he had finished it by then ! Our salads eventually arrived with another chicken dish for dad which obviously he didn’t want . When it came to dessert he ordered the chocolate tarte and honeycomb ice cream which he was looking forward to trying . Unfortunately it arrived with no ice cream just a small blob of cream . We asked the waitress if there was supposed to be honeycomb ice cream yes she said and took it back . It later came back with the ice cream in place. The manager came over to apologise for our rather shambolic meal and said the kitchen was very busy due to the large number of golfers wanting burgers ??? Our desserts were taken off the bill, but a very disappointing “special occasion “."

"Dreadful experience mother’s day treat which turned into a disaster. We arrived with the two tables either side of us making complaints about how slow the service was and about the food. We waited 15 minutes for a jug of tap water, a further 15 minutes for our bottle of wine and an hour and a quarter for three Caesar salads and some poached haddock. The kitchen couldn’t cope with multiple tables ordering yet the restaurant was only half full. Won’t be going back"

"Whilst I could not fault the food (Spatched chicken and the Burger, with the Mango cheesecake and Chocolate Orange Tart for dessert) both were cooked well, and my Mum really enjoyed the chicken the service was painfully, and shockingly slow.Sitting with empty plates in front of us for over 20mins (note, only four other tables were in, circa 14 guests so the team of four were not exactly overwhelmed) with the manager walking past us four times (and noting we had plates sat there) but did not do anything about it; either asking a member of the team, or clearing it himself (which he eventually did).The team also seemed to enjoy conversations with what looked like regulars who play golf, vs looking after all guests in the room.I would say the service is a lot more attentive and genuine at a great gastro pub a stones throw away, The Fox.Safe to say I will not be back again."
