"Had quite a disappointing experience on a recent visit to Red’s in Nottingham after hearing many good things about the place. We booked a table and arrived on time but were left standing at the entrance for 10-15 minutes before anybody greeted us. There was another group stood at the front who had also been waiting some time, but to pay and leave, so alarm bells were already ringing. We were briefly told there was no brisket left that day (disappointing, but not the end of the world) en route to our table but they were replacing it with extra burnt ends which we were fine with. When at our table, we then waited another 10-15 minutes for somebody to take our order. When the food arrived the extra burnt ends promised were not present, and there were no staff around, so we had to get up and walk to the kitchen to ask for them. Food was ok but I’ve had better barbecue/smokehouse for less elsewhere. The place seemed pretty sparse and empty in terms of both customers and staff, so not sure if they are struggling a bit? Either way, expected a bit more for £60."
