"This is a charming old building, nicely decorated for Christmas. The meal cost £130 per person for Christmas lunch pleasant pub grub. The turkey was reconstituted rather than carved off the bone, sprouts a bit over done. I don't think all the food was freshly made on the premises using local ingredients as they claimed some elements seemed definitely factory made. My husband had the lamb which was very good. No drinks included in the price of the meal coffee was supposed to be, but they charged us (they did apologize and remove the charge once we pointed it out) . I ordered from the champagne list to receive a bottle of sparkling wine which was room temperature although it did gradually chill after being in a cooler with ice for a while. The staff were very nice there was a 12.5 service charge added to the bill of £360 for three people without drinks. The music ranged from a Beyonce album to generic pop to poppy versions of Christmas songs, quite loud, and the room was very hot and smelling of Bisto gravy. It was pleasant but overpriced, but that's what you get when you leave it too late to book anywhere else for Christmas lunch! When you pay that much you do expect a slightly more premium experience, though."
