"my friend and I wanted to pick up and have had a request for Vietnamese food, we wanted to meet somewhere that was half a point for her and me and I jumped quickly on the open table to find a Vietnamese restaurant in the surrounding areas. caphe came up and we were glad that we could grab a table for 7.30 on a sa in such a short time. when we arrived, there was another person who had eaten alone, and while we were there, there was another table or a farewell, etc., only we! the service (again it was an empty restaurant was elementary, the young waiter was 't rude, but was, we will say very tactless as if I mention that I had a heavy prawn allergy (anaphylaxis sufferer his answer was good, not order the dishes with garnel in it. I have put this on his ignorance and said it is a serious matter and I tell them that they can check with the kitchen that I will not be served any dishes containing garnels. the dishes were good portions (especially good value for money, although the broth to my pho was quite salty and we had to ask them twice to come and fill our teekanne and water again. again it was interesting that my question regarding my allergy took that seriously in consideration of the salat we asked came with garn crackers sitting on the top. because it was our first time in the restaurant, I am uncertain if it was just one of them that the restaurant was so quiet or whether it was to serve or something else."

"great food! new at coulsdon, I thought thai venue looked good, but a real shand was so quiet at a Fri evening. 3 of us had the cheapest of set menus with a bottle of wine and coffee and it was just under £20 a head. especially eating was excellent, the service inconspicuous but efficient. probably better than baan thai in purley (although I love the decor there! . will certainly go back this restaurant deserves to be more business!"

"book here for a party of 6 for the Chinese silvesternacht after they do not make the booking for another restaurant due to this busy night. we ordered the peking duck and all the dishes for a happy and wealthy years like fish, noodles and dumplings. the dimming cum dishes came first char sui bungalow and xiao long bao were standard and tasted quite well. there were no spoons tho for the xiao long bao that made it a little harder less traditional. our dishes came next to the damped sea bass was delicious, the bones were taken out (except the side fins that made it easy to eat (but less fun, as I like to flipping the fish when a side is done) the Ho fun (rice nudel with rührei had a bit of everything in it huh, pork, garnel, tinted fish. we also have the plate of chinese broccoli (gai lan with garlic) (they must order a vege in a Chinese restaurant and this has proven to be one of my favorite food of the night. very fragrant and crisp. we also ordered Mongolian king prawn, that was a little disappointing, and actually felt like the sweet sour king prawn court (or perhaps the order mixed. . I also felt really like peking disappointing for old, so was happy to finally get some. I was a bit confused about the difference between peking duck and crispy aromatic duck both on their menu when I checked it at picking up the restaurant. it has been shown that it is a British ding (the population in Britain and the last escape is finished with a deep step, that is the cripple, and apparently it is a bit dry. we have two steam basket of pancakes for our peking duck not sure whether it is because we have asked enough pancake haha. I'm more used to having 2 courses when I pee, but they're not doing this here. we ordered a whole and we also got the usual plum sauce and gurken garlic shoot to go with it. Although we were given only 2 hours of eating time, we were eating pretty fast and finished after only 1.5 hours. they do not desserts, but gave us a lazy lucky cookie that was entertaining as we were in bed after reading each of our gap out loud! everything in all was a pretty good meal and service good (for a Chinese restaurant. we sat in the back room of the restaurant and the atmosphere was good, beautiful bright white walls and table clothes, and maybe not as crowded as the front. but it has a bit loud, because it is all great tables in the back room. some portions of eating felt not very, but overall we went full and happy for only £15 per person. the online booking was simple and (especially given the busy night they called me on the day to confirm our booking."

"first time at this place, we ordered the chicken crumbburger with Masala chips. the Masala chips were extremely soggy and the tang of the tomats was overwhelming and completely open, disgusting. the chips are not true for their average Masala style taste. on the other side, the Hühnchen-Krümelburger was charming. it had crisp and texture on the outside, while it remained soft and delicate on the inside. overall, this place has a slow service, but the quality of the burger makes up for it."

"The staff was friendly and the menu was great. The taste combinations were thoughtful and well executed. The portion sizes were good, and I enjoyed three courses without feeling overcrowded. The wine pairing was great. The winter garden was a bit cool, but it didn't take away from the excellent food. The atmosphere was lacking something, but that can be hit or miss with hotel restaurants. Adding descriptions to the gin list in the beverage menu would improve it. It was nice to see local products being used. Overall, it was very good and I will definitely return."

"To put the scenario in context……..we have just returned from travelling overseas for my husbands 70th birthday holiday and I had promised him a Thai meal Thai food is a favourite of ours) when we returned…so I booked The Blue Orchid at the Verve hotel. We arrived and the place was absolutely empty. We were shown to the only table which had menus on it. We knew what we wanted as we had looked at the menu online earlier in the day. We ordered Set Menu A and two diet cokes and some prawn crackers. The starters arrived and after eating a few bits of battered vegetables, I managed to get the attention of the waitress and asked to see the menu again so we knew what we were eating, because I was pretty certain it said satay chicken and tiger prawns. The menu came back and I asked what we had been served because it had no resemblance to the menu description. The waitress apologised and said she had thought we had said Set Menu B …we said categorically not we had clearly said A. The waitress went to get her senior and we repeated the problem. The senior member of staff assured us we would get Set A main courses. The original waitress apologised again and I pointed out that menu A&B had the same starters and she said that the chef had misheard her and cooked menu D starters which were all vegetarian. She then asked which of the A starters we would still like. We agreed we’d like the tiger prawns and chicken satay served with the main course. Some time later the main course was delivered by the original waitress and her senior. I asked her senior where the main course tiger prawns were and what was the food on the table because once again it resembled nothing like what we had ordered. She said she would go and ask the chef and off she went. We divided the rice in half and ate the starter prawns and satay which were cold…at which point the other waitress disappeared….we waited a while for someone to return and then we started eating the duck and chicken. After a while I called out was someone going to come and talk to us about the food. The senior waitress and the original waitress returned and said they would make an adjustment to the bill. I said that wasn’t acceptable as we had deliberately chosen that menu to eat prawns and because it had no chilli. I asked to speak to the manager. When he arrived he went into a tirade saying he wouldn’t have his staff shouted at or spoken to the way we had spoken to them….we had been in normal voice and very polite, considering they had completely ruined my husbands birthday meal. The manager was shouting at us “did we want the meal removed and set meal A cooked for us yes or no “ he kept repeating “yes or no”. My husband, a quiet man, told him we wanted him to listen to our complaint and explain why we had been assured we would get Menu A after the starter mixup and we were still not served what we had ordered. The manager didn’t reply he constantly interrupted and spoke over us and I told him at least twice to stop being so rude to us both…he still kept shouting “Do you want this replaced with menu A, yes or no” We finally said no. I said, I no longer wanted to eat as I was very upset and I apologised to my husband for his disastrous 70th birthday meal. The manager said we needn’t pay for the meal….as if that made it OK. He then stormed off. I put £10 on the table to pay for our drinks and the prawn crackers which were the only thing we had which we had actually ordered. The waitress said we didn’t need to. But I left it there. As we went past reception I waited for the manager to finish booking 3 people in and told him I had left £10 to pay for the drinks and crackers, and that his behaviour was an absolute disgrace. We were absolutely amazed at this shameful behaviour of the manager. The waitresses had had polite and civil conversation and we had been polite in return..if telling someone that it was unacceptable to continuously serve food completely different from what has been ordered is being rude, I wonder how one can convey the situation to the staff…neither me or my husband shouted or raised our voices but the manager didn’t even ask us what the problem was he just steamed into us…..this establishment doesn’t deserve to be in business if this is how it’s managed…it’s no wonder it was completely empty in its restaurant. I can honestly say we will never be going again neither will any of our family or friends."

"A few years ago, I wrote a negative review for this restaurant. Recently, my girlfriend went there for a night out and mentioned things had improved, so we decided to give it another chance tonight. I went in with an open mind, hoping to write a positive review to balance out my previous one. I tried my best to focus on the positive aspects, but in all honesty, I cannot ignore the flaws. The cocktails and service were good upon arrival, but once we sat down and ordered, things went downhill. The bread selection and bruschetta were subpar, and unfortunately, the rest of the meal didn't impress either."

"The staff at Mango Thai Tapas are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the menu is clearly labeled with options that can be made vegan or adjusted as needed. The food is delicious and affordable, and the atmosphere is lovely. The only drawback is the cocktail menu, which isn’t clearly marked, with some drinks containing non-vegan ingredients like Baileys or egg white."

"Food was acceptable Staff was unprofessional and, They asked for a service fee, and when I refused to pay, their behavior changed. They said once again, “We will not accept your reservation in the restaurant.” They raised their voices and said, You came to a famous restaurant, why don’t you pay? I told them that the service fee is like a tip. I insisted on paying the amount that I felt was appropriate, rather than the amount they were trying to impose on me."

"This restaurant offers delicious Thai cuisine upstairs, with an old English pub on the ground floor. The exterior may not be impressive, but don't let that deter you - it's worth giving it a try. You won't regret it."

"Got a takeaway whilst near Ammanford and we were really happy with it. The food tasted fresh, and of a high quality. For a vegan, the vegetable fried rice with no egg is great as well as the salt and pepper beancurd, vegetable spring rolls...and chips. They catered really well for gluten free and adapted dishes to be suitable for our needs too. The king prawn curry was very nice and a special mention for the vegetable fried rice too. Would definitely recommend if in the area for a takeaway or eat in the restaurant."

"I have been dining at this restaurant for many years and the food has always been excellent. I reached out via email during Veganuary to inquire about suitable options, and the response I received was fantastic. They confirmed the dishes I had asked about and offered further assistance if needed. I am delighted that my favorite Chinese restaurant, Oriental Aroma, continues to provide great service and options for vegans."
