"The restaurant rated well on urbanspoon so we thought we'd try it. We ordered two meat thalis and a side of tarka daal. There was a lot on the table and one thali would have sufficed for both of us. The one vegetable dish in the thali was a little bland in comparison to the others but all in all we weren't disappointed, and the bonus was the price was reasonable Closest tube station is Royal Oak."

My Sag paneer was basically just tinned spinach with very little paneer indeed. Same size as the previous side dish but now only available as a main for nearly £9. "9 of us had just a meal here, absolutely brilliant, staff can not be enough for them and so friendly, the restaurant is nice and clean and spacious sitting places so that you did not sit on each other. eating is the best thing I cost in a very long time and they will certainly get a good portion if they can't make it, all they can take it home, they also do takeaways. there were no complaints from our party and at the end we got lutcher and a basil potion."

"we have just begun to use the bengal brasserie after our local alam spice in fawley eating down. Fourth visit and eating was great! the best curry we ate in a very, very long time. garlic chili huh, lamb vindaloo, hot, spicy full taste and deep. not full sugar and salt like alam spice. spices also cooked well. lamb pathia is delicious. lamb very delicate and huh was also perfectly cooked, damp and tasty and not like a piece of rubber. I can't praise them enough. A nice cook. the only problem was the wobble that bahjii was crispy out there, but in the midst gay, still give them 5/5 because everything else was spot-on."

"My partner and I dined at this restaurant last night, and I personally believe it was the best Indian food I have had in years. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated at a table. We had purchased an Itison voucher (two courses for two people, with a choice of house red or white wine) which only cost us £17 total. The starters were beautifully presented and tasted delicious, setting us up nicely for our main courses. I chose the South Indian garlic chilli dish, while my husband opted for the Nepalese bhuna. Both dishes were flavorful and authentic. Since we had used an Itison voucher, we paid for the poppadoms and chutney before heading home to relax for the evening. Overall, I must say that for a restaurant that had just opened a few weeks ago, the service was friendly and the food was exceptional. Keep up the good work, Essence - we will definitely be back."
