"Very tasty butter chicken and excellent samosas!! Had ordered a takeaway on deliveroo. Butter chicken is definitely one of the best in London. First bite transfers you straight down the memory lane to any top North Indian restaurant or famous dhabas. Sauce gravy was excellent but the chicken not very fresh. The kheema naan okish. No wow factor. But very palatable. Garlic naan was a bit chewy, but then again was in takeaway so will try another time fresh at the restaurant. Dal makhani was a bit of disappointment. Was strangely sour. And not buttery and creamy as it should be. The steamed rice was very dry and a bit under cooked. May be given the benefit of doubt that was in a takeaway container. Now coming to the samosa. Hands down one of the best you can get anywhere. Even better than some famous places in India. Excellent taste, fresh good seasoning nice authentic texture of the dough. And to top it all very good tamarind chutney. Highly recommend for good hearty Indian flavours. Their menu selection is excellent as goes with the drinks too! Would definitely recommend to friends and family! And will be coming soon to dine in!!"

"This restaurant has a strong sense of community and they are introducing a new vegan menu, which the man at the counter showed me over the phone. The food is flavorful and delicious, different from other Indian cuisine I have tried. We ordered Chana samosa (large portion for those who are hungry), papdi chat, vada pav, and samosa misal, and shared everything between the two of us. The total came to around £15 and we were satisfied with the portion size. I highly recommend this place. Please note that seating is limited, but we did not have any issues finding a seat and they also offer takeout."

"This is probably the best curry I have had in many years. The menu is not extensive, which is a good thing because the dishes we tried were full of flavor (instead of just being different main ingredients in the same sauce, as is common in many curry houses). Every dish we tried was excellent, and the service was perfect. I will definitely return the next time I am in Birmingham."

"Been here a good few times. This time it was really poor. Was sat 20 minutes before anyone asked us for drinks even then it was only as we grabbed someone walking past!! Then the curry came but without rice and breads! Staff were like oh why don’t you just eat. Then breads only came once we had finished the curry!! The girl with the snake tattoo is always amazing and she apologised as did the Italian team leader in a jumper. Other staff including the big chap who was a server is in the wrong job… I asked him for the bill, he gave me direct eye contact, heard me, then ignored me to talk to his colleague. Very poor."

"Sakonis offers Indian vegetarian food with some Indo Chinese options and is located on Ealing Road, now for quite some time a predominantly Gujarati area of London, with its menu largely reflecting its local customer base. The restaurant is relatively large and this was our second visit in as many months. Last month we were able to walk in and dine without a reservation but this time we had a reservation for the six of us, which was a wise decision because there were queues at times that we observed. While the buffet seemed extremely popular (especially for the soft ice cream! and our server encouraged us to avail of the buffet, not unsurprisingly, we opted for a la carte a decision that we did not regret. The Sakonis website is very modern and loads quickly, offering modern and well taken photographs of some of the dishes. The mogo chips were one of the starters that we ordered and were well made, a little crispy around the edges, soft in the middle, with a spicy sauce that was right at the cusp. We also ordered the palak paneer and the paneer butter masala, both of which were excellent. Of the two I would say that the latter was a little more flavoursome a surprise since I love spinach perhaps the palak paneer could have been a little more spicy. But the star of the show was surely the bathuras that came with those particular large plates (options also included naan and puri . In fact they were so popular with our group that we ordered an additional four and although they took rather long to arrive, when we compared our fresh, hot bathuras that lingered on the buffet table getting cold, we were sure that we had made the right decision. We also ordered a hakka noodles but that was rather insipid both in look and taste although we could see plenty of diners ordering the Indo Chinese dishes. The masala tea was just alright not nearly as good as Dishoom's for example, but the inclusion of a Parle G biscuit is a cute touch. Service was great even if the late order of bathuras was rather slow. Ria was particularly helpful. We plan to visit again in the summer."

"The food is absolutely exceptional. I've been here before, so I knew what to expect, and I wasn’t let down. My only piece of constructive feedback is that on both visits, the coffee machine was out of order. I enjoy having a nice cup of coffee after a meal, but oh well! I guess we come for the food, not the coffee."

"I went to the Luton branch with is newly opened for breakfast. I made a reservation the night before. On arrival we were met with 4/5 workers saying they didn’t have our reservation! We informed them it was reserved yesterday and it was all confirmed with a gentlemen. The tables were empty apart from one family, no reservations notices on the table and they’re telling me we can’t sit because We don’t have a reservation. The woman at the front with the glasses is extremely rude! She will say no even before you tell her your name! They seemed really annoyed, they then told us we could have the back table, we sat down. We ordered breakfast, we were served by Ella, who was absolutely lovely so attentive. We got our tea well before breakfast, so the tea was cold by the time breakfast came. I wouldn’t go back to this branch again as I found some of the staff rude and annoyed as they assumed we didn’t have a reservation! Another couple came and they were also questioned about their reservation which they also had made! They tend to turn people away even though tables are empty! At least if they have the reservation tickets on them you know they’re reserved. I wouldn’t go back here again because of the staff attitude."

"Arrived in London late and hungry. We still had to check in to our hotel and had noticed, on the Yelp App, that Salt was not far. We asked the front desk guy about it but apparently he wasn 't a fan. He referred to it as where night people went. Not sure what he meant by that at the time but, it was night and I was hungry so, I guess that made me one of them. Left our things in the room and walked to Salt. As we approached the restaurant we realized what he meant. We were in a middle eastern part of town and this place was packed even though it was already 10pm on a weekday. The people at the outside tables were smoking hookah, having delicious looking Nan bread with dipping sauces, and everyone seemed to be having a great, relaxing time. Seemed like a great place so far. Went in and liked it even more. Plenty of tables all around, beautiful and very organized full bar (with a long list of whiskeys), and we were seated immediately. Took me a while to decide on what to eat, they have a good variety of dishes on their menu, mostly Indian cuisine but there some dishes for people who prefer things like a burger or fish and chips. Finally decided on their Chicken wrap, and we also ordered a lamb wrap and potato cake. While we waited for the food we got our drinks... vodka soda and a Campari Spritzer. The food came out fairly fast and hot. Big portions and Big flavors. The Chicken wrap had a delicious curry taste, and you can ask for it to made with nan instead of a regular wrap bread . The Nan makes a huge difference, trust me. Made me want to ask for more on the side but I refrained as what we had on the table was more than enough already. It comes with a mint sauce on the side but, I enjoyed it more with the yogurt sauce from the potato pancake. Which were very tasty too! Our server came over from time to time to bring us new drinks, refill our waters and make sure food was to our liking. So glad we didn 't listen to the guy at the hotel. As mentioned it was my first night in London, and so far it started on a great note. Definitely a place I would recommend!"

"I made a reservation for a table for 8 people on a Saturday night, but when we arrived, my table was set for 7 people. They quickly added another cover, so it wasn't a big issue. It took a little while for our drinks to arrive, but it was a busy Saturday night. Our order was taken promptly, and the starters came out quickly. We didn't feel rushed to finish before our main course. I ordered the biryani, which was delicious and had a unique twist with a pastry crust. The portion size was just right. We skipped dessert, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely come back."

"We originally travelled to Swansea for a gig but was cancelled, so we booked the Rasoi as a last minute thing, I hadn't heard of it before, but was really pleased we did. The minute we walked in we were welcomed by the staff and they were very friendly. The atmosphere and restaurant was great, the Christmas tree was up and looked very festive. The food was amazing.
