"Expensive drinks but given the location I’m not really surprised. Strange not to have cheesy chips as a menu option. Very quiet which for us was nice after a busy day! No major issues on food quality although my son had a few bones in his fish. Overall a good to very good rating."

"I ordered via UberEats, and it was a disappointing experience. The food arrived stone cold and inedible. It seemed the food had been prepared and left sitting for a long time before being picked up by the delivery driver. To make matters worse, the food had a strange petrol or chemical taste that made it unpalatable. I would not recommend ordering from this establishment. The food quality was poor, and the delivery service failed to deliver the food in a timely manner and in an edible condition."

"It was a few times and never had a problem. You have a separate fryer, so there are options for the fish and the chips. Gf sauces are offered, portions are large and employees are worth knowing about gf. The place is always humming, so I recommend booking in advance, although there is a waiting area where drinks can be ordered while you wait."

"Worst customer service I’ve had in London in five years absolutely appalling experience. Would not recommend going here for food of a weekend as the staff are rude and inattentive. I had booked for a group of seven via Open Table ticking the ‘set menu’ option and upon arrival we were told that it was not available, that the man ‘knew his menu’ and to take it up with Open Table. No effort to accommodate despite us having the booking confirmation that said what had been offered at the point of booking. It was all down to money but they refused to admit this to be the case. The man was extremely rude and spoilt the mood of the evening from the off. If there’d only been two of us I would have walked out straight away. Ordered food, food was perfectly lovely but waitress serving seemed unsure what was what and one of the sides didn’t show up until we’d finished everything else so it was of no use to us. Toilets hadn’t been cleaned and bins were overflowing with tissue paper. All I can think is that they have different staff midweek and don’t care about weekend clientele, otherwise I can’t imagine them getting any returning customers"

"If you’re looking for a quality pub just off the Royal Mile, consider a nice dinner here. Regular pub food here…well prepared. The real draw of this place is the ambience. Dark wood, fun quotes and wall decor, friendly and helpful staff with nightly music (starting about 9:30; we were too tired, unfortunately). Had a nice, fancier dinner the night before but much preferred this place! I ordered a delicious hamburger. Husband ordered a Haggis Tower (which he loved) along with a meat pie (also loved)!"

"The food was good, however, this was sadly let down by the poor service. The restaurant was extremely quiet, yet we did not receive our drinks until after our starters were finished. We checked on the progress of the two bottles of wine when the starters were served and were assured they were on the way. When we finished our starters (10-15 minutes later) I went round to the bar to ask where the drinks were and found three waiters standing talking. Furthermore the restaurant was extremely cold, despite being sat next to the fire. Not a great night out for my Mum’s birthday."
