"Perhaps the owners are new and they are still trying to get established. We were the only diners that lunch time. The food appears to be bought in and included oven chips and frozen peas. The fish, gammon and scampi were over cooked and the batter on the fish was soggy. It was served on cold plates. I should have said something at the time but it was a social occasion and I could not bring myself to make a complaint. Two days a later we had lunch at a pub less than 10 miles away where the food was excellent but the price was the same. I note that the Wingfield Arms also does a Sunday lunch, perhaps that is better."
