"I had coffee with my partner and when I went to pay the nice young waitress she told me could not take the Scottish £20 note I offered. I asked why and she said she did not know as it was a management decision. I wanted to change the note so I could tip her but the management put her in the embarrassing position of refusing my money, I am not easily embarrassed but just felt sorry for her, and also denying her a tip. As a tourist this has put me off returning to this cafe in a town where I have never had my money refused before. I know loss of my business will not make a great dent in the turnover but I am in this town a few times a year and I would imagine in the current economic climate any business would want all the custom they can get."

"We were driving from Harwich to Pembrokeshire and met up with my stepson here (who had driven down from Nottingham) for Sunday lunch. The food was of very good quality and the meals were reasonable priced. I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was one of the best that I have tasted. There were local real ales available which were also very nice. We will definitely consider the short detour to this pub again when we are in the area. The only real problem was that my GPS didn't know that it is no longer possible to exit the A14 at the M1/M6 junction. So check your route beforehand!"
