"I used to visit Balans quite a lot a few years ago and always found the food good. However today was a big 'fail '. I arrived for breakfast with a friend. The waiter was a nice guy and as I couldn 't see any Vegan food on the breakfast menu, I asked if they had a Vegan breakfast? He replied yes and I awaited its delivery. All I can say is that it was a failed attempt at food. One mushroom, half a tomato, a splodge of baked beans and some chopped fried potatoes, three... I don 't know what to call these... breaded sausage type things all topped off with a slice of toast which arrived with a butter tub on top, which was quickly whisked away and not replaced. I presume they had no dairy alternative. Bland... wasn 't good enough for this effort. Though the price charged was reflective of many expensive eateries in the Soho area. To be honest I would have got a better breakfast at a transport cafe on the M1 for a third of the price. Balans you failed."
