"We requested to speak with the manager, who seemed to have an unusual understanding of customer service. He insisted that we couldn't simply book on OpenTable and expect to have a table upon arrival. When we pointed out that they had confirmed our reservation just 24 hours prior, he replied, "I didn't confirm it with you, so it doesn't count."
Despite our attempts to explain how the OpenTable system works, the manager remained confrontational, likely stressed by the upcoming event. Fortunately, after some back and forth, the staff reconsidered and allowed us to stay and eat while they set up for their important Christmas guests.
Given the circumstances, we would have sought another restaurant for six people on short notice if it had been a feasible option, but that simply wasn't realistic. The takeaway from this experience is to avoid this restaurant, especially due to the challenging manager. If you do decide to make a reservation, it's best not to rely on OpenTable since they don't seem to check their reservation system thoroughly. Always get personal confirmation from the manager, as he clearly lacks trust in his own staff. Overall, it was a very unsettling experience, especially considering the ongoing challenges in the hospitality industry."
