"Chef Ali opened the original Mangal around 25 years ago and this branch around 20 years ago. He is something of an authority in Ocakbasi in the local area and the results are delicious. There’s a large selection of grilled meat dishes and plenty to keep vegetarians occupied too. As a reference for myself in comparing Ocakbasi restaurants I always like to compare the Cop Sis (small lamb cubes). These were succulent and tender, served up with a generous plate of salad and Turkish bread on the side. The simple sounding Grilled Aubergine was equally delicious served with a tasty sauce and portion of bulgur wheat. It’s no wonder famous artist duo Gilbert and George have been regulars here since it opened. Miso paparazzo!"
