"What a superb pub staffed by lovely professionals. We were here for an evening meal. I had the duo of beef which was blade of beef and two generous portions of fillet of beef. This and the accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection. My wife had the lamb cooked 2 ways which was also excellent. The Eton mess to finish was another triumph and a very individual and modern take. This was 5* restaurant cooking at its best. Congratulations to all the staff and thank you for a memorable meal."

"First time here to meet up with brother and sister in law for lunch 21.12.23 Place was busy, I put this down to festive season. First impressions were favourable. Warm greeting and as much time as we needed to decide on our order. Food arrived. Oh dear frozen oily deep fried calamari, not brilliant but edible, main course arrived , again not brilliant but edible. When the side order of onion rings eventually arrived half way through main course, oily and pretty gross to be honest. I wasn't in the mood to raise any issues because I suspect this is as good as it gets here. Won't be running back anytime soon personally but my brother and sister in law live locally and think it's OK. In summary I would urge you to try this venue for yourself and not make your choice based on my comments. Who knows, maybe we just caught them on an off day! "Consistently excellent! Lovely neighbour restaurant with superb food and service. They’ve also modified their restaurant appropriately to adhere to Covid restrictions and we felt very safe. The only bad thing I can ever say about the washerwomans is that the portions are very healthy so come hungry!"
