"When I expressed that I didn't think a 15% service charge was appropriate for a starter and a main course that were just thrown on the table in front of us, we were met with indifference. The server claimed, “service is for every member of the staff,” despite the fact that only one waiter was present, and he treated us poorly. He then went to speak to the manager but didn’t even seem to notice where he dropped the new bill that no longer included the service charge. If he had shown some understanding or offered an apology, I might have been willing to pay the service fee, but he didn’t seem to care at all.
We weren't the only table dissatisfied with the service; many others shared our frustration. It wasn't until we stayed for a bottle of wine and dessert that the service improved, although by then we had spent £120 on this meal. I definitely wouldn’t return to this place. There’s a much better option around the corner called Vagabonds that excels in every way."
