"Stopped off hungry and thirsty on the way back from Rowardennan.. Were met by a warm welcome from friendly fella in a kilt which is always a good start.. Despite all tables being booked for dinner a quick discussion on how long we were staying allowed us to be seated in the front conservatory.. Both of us ordered the haddock and chips and a couple of soft drinks.. The service was fast and friendly.. We were told that we would struggle with finishing the fish n chips.. He wasn't kidding.. What a portion, but what struck me most was the quality of the fish.. And the batter on the fish was the best I can remember having.. Throw in a plate o chips that would have fed four, mushy peas that even ma son ate and I can honestly say I'd go out of my way to return.. Top marks all round.. Free car park across the road was a wee Brucie bonus too.."
