"We SO enjoyed our visit last night to Sally Clarke's restaurant it was my first ever time but our host's returning umpteenth experience of this shining gem of an establishment. Having heard endless recommendations and rave reviews, we approached with eager, certainly high expectations. From the sheer courtesy and attention of the staff on arrival to our reluctant departure (was it really? three hours later with joyous hearts and stomachs, we had a ball!! We'll leave you to match our nouns with our sincere and carefully chosen adjectives. Simply massive congratulations from every member of our roundtabled, windowed, party. Each of us is madly in your debit! Our honest impression, experience and treatment? We attest the....... to have been ...... : • cuisine .... warm and attentive • staff .... subtle and charming • ambience .... thankful, well satisfied, glowing, wanting to return asap • winelist .... reassuring and heartwarming • value for money .... totally delicious and creative. • feel good factor .... no idea (menu detail seemed reasonable as I glanced • table and plate presentation. .... not a chance, they were on to it • menu choices .... restful yet stimulating • left my umbrella behind? .... undoubtedly the best, and I'm a seasoned diner • dining out experience this month .... comfortable, uncluttered, yet artistic • surrounding clientele near abouts .... brilliant, all tantalising: wanted to try them all! • left feeling what? .... sufficiently short, varied and well stocked. "we've been there and loved the experience. this time the service was far below expectations, but eating was amazing and tasty. the chef came and checked us what was a nice note. the lack of service from our waiter was mainly surprised with our excellent experience from the beginning. we had to ask the busboy (who also made most of the portions) to ask the waiter two times on our refills of drinks and then, when our waiter finally came to ask him again. I hope this review will change the service experience for the restaurant as the cook deserves better staff"

"The booking at the Eden Restaurant was to celebrate my wife's birthday that day. After being seated we were completely ignored by waiting staff which resulted in me having to go to the bar not once but twice to ask for a drinks order to be taken. It was waiting service only. Later, when a waiter came to take our drinks and food order we questioned the fact that the menu differed from that which was shown on the internet in that a choice of sea bass or salmon was available on the that menu but not on the menu before us. The waiter said that there was no fish available that evening. I remonstrated with him because we specifically booked the restaurant on this occasion because of its fish options as neither one of us eat meat products. The waiter said he would go to the kitchen to make sure his information was correct. As it was an open kitchen we could see that the waiter was in deep conversation for some time with the chefs. He returned and said they could find one piece of salmon and one piece of halibut. As there were three of us we had no option but to abandon our night out at the Eden and leave the restaurant without having a meal. The waiter apologised profusely saying he was having all sorts of problems with the way the restaurant is being run not only that evening but previously. To make matters worse, it was impossible to talk to anyone by telephone at the restaurant that day or previously, to either make a booking or receive basic information, as several attempted phone calls always ended up the same way, in an answering machine advising you to book a table on line. There was no excuse whatsoever for the mismanagement and the fact that no-one in a senior position came to speak to us says it all. In my opinion your company should review its association with the Eden Restaurant"
