"The restaurant was a lovely setting, especially on a cold snowy night, with open fires providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. We were particularly drawn to this venue because of its vegan menu, which offers properly nutritious meals, rather than just meat or vegetarian options with the meat/dairy/eggs removed. Overall, we were satisfied with our meals, although disappointed that the advertised vegan dessert (pineapple and peach ravioli) was unavailable. The only alternative dessert offered was vegan ice cream or sorbet, which was not ideal on a snowy winter evening. One minor complaint was that the open fire in the restaurant had gone out completely, despite it being a quiet night with only a few tables occupied. Overall, a pleasant dining experience with room for improvement."

"I regularly drink and eat at Bell and the Dragon, but New Year’s Eve, like a number of other meals was nice atmosphere but very disappointing at the same time. They now charge £8 to £12+ for a glass of wine, and the quality of this has poor on two occasions. The bar is nice and friendly, but We recently asked for 2 glasses of Sauvignon and the lady in charge of the bar was surly and combative when I suggested that 2 glasses of wine for £24 was poor value and at that price they really should announce the price rather than just pour it and charge you . The new years eve dinner was imaginative but not well executed, with very slow serving times. The initial bottle of Chilean Sauvignon £31) was very poor and I returned it. I had monkfish which was served without any vegetables and I was told there weren’t any vegetables that could be bought additionally. For £60 a head meal I thought this was bottom quartile performance. Compare it with my recent experience in the Italian restaurant or the Red Lion in Odiham, or The Mill in North Warnborough all superb meals, better value), and I have to say the Bel and the Dragon has disappointed each time I have eaten there. I’d like to see Bel and the Dragon at top quartile, but it needs a top down change of approach to get there."

"This place was absolutely amazing. We came for dinner since it looked very inviting from the outside. The staff was very friendly and sat us immediately. Our server asked if we had been there before and when we said no he guided us through the menu and gave us a lot of recommendations. The food was gorgeously plated and had great flavor. My fiancee has a gluten allergy and they went out of their way to show us all the options that would be good for her. After dinner they invited us to come the next day for afternoon tea and said if we made a reservation they would make all gluten free items for my fiancee. We made the reservation and came back for tea the next day. The sandwiches and scones were extremely fresh and the gluten free items they made my fiancee were amazing! Well done and we will be back next time we come to Windsor!"

My sister and I had a wonderful walk from Free Folk to Kingsclere exploring Watership Down and the wonderful staff at the bar saved us some walking and helped us find a ride back! "This restaurant has deteriorated significantly since the new owners took over. The serving staff is lazy and clumsy, resulting in slow service. Requesting more bread took 15 minutes, causing the cooked Brie to turn hard. The shared steak was lukewarm and the triple cooked potatoes were hard. Despite being a longtime patron, I will not be returning after my recent disappointing experiences."

"Absolutely love this pub, we have just bought a lodge in the area and luckily found this gem. We eat here for Sunday lunch and cannot fault it. The food is cooked to perfection with a good selection of meat snd vegetables. The staff are all lovely and nothing to much trouble. I totally recommend this pub."
