"Hands down the worst food I’ve had in years. The chicken tenders were inedible and the dirty fries were disgusting. I have been to meat and barrel several times over the years and never had an experience like this. Have the management changed? Who’s in the kitchen? Are we cutting so many corners we’ve lost sight of why we are here? I sent my food back and got a refund it was so so bad. The staff were all rude and couldn’t be bothered to serve us. It’s such a shame for a local place to go so downhill. No atmosphere, terrible food, awful staff. I will not be returning anytime soon. If you want a nice evening with good food do yourself a favour and go to Croxton’s a few doors down."

"What can I say? The service was excellent, the beers were fantastic, and the selection of cheese and meats was delightful. The record collection upstairs is impressive, and we even enjoyed a fascinating discussion about 1970s Chilean football and politics. This place feels like my little slice of heaven!"
