"First time at Tapasya so.... Booked for a Monday evening and as expected, and like most restaurants, will always be quiet, however, three tables covered so some 'atmosphere ', the staff were very attentive and friendly, and the food really was delicious. Unlike most Indian restaurants the menu is quite small, so they can make sure each dish is very good and freshly prepared. The web image is for 'Indian fine dining '. Yes, it certainly seems to be! I haven 't tasted Indian food as good as this for a very long time, nor had napkins placed on my lap in any Indian restaurant! The waitresses just glide up to your table and replenish your drinks without you realising they have been there. Will definitely return in the near future, good stuff."

"To my surprise, many restaurants are closed on Sunday evening in London. Every time I looked up a vegan restaurant on Happy Cow, it turned out it was closed. Since it was late and I was hungry, I had no other option than to select a vegetarian restaurant close by. 1947 Restaurant and Bar is both an Indian and Italian restaurant. The entire menu is vegetarian, however only around 20% is vegan. Many more meals can be made vegan, but so many of them had cheese listed as an ingredient that I didn 't want to run the risk. What if there 's an error in communication between the waitress and the kitchen? Or what if the chef accidentally adds cheese out of habit? I had lots of time to make up my mind, because even though the restaurant was very quiet it took a long time until the waitress came to take my order. I selected vegan biryani because I like biryani and because I 've tried it at so many restaurants that it 's easy to compare. It took a long time for the biryani to be prepared, but then it was served beautifully and smelled divine (as it should be). However, compared to other restaurants it 's a rather simple biryani. It has only one kind of rice (it is often served with both white and yellow rice) and only a few vegetables. There was no tofu, mushroom, potato, no nuts or any protein source. Also, the yoghurt was missing (which is used to extinguish the fire caused by the spices). The portion was generous and the taste was good. Although it was mentioned on the menu, 1947 Restaurant and Bar adds a 12.5% service tax. Why don 't restaurants just increase all prices on the menu instead of giving the customers a nasty surprise at the end?"

"I have tried the best karak chai ever at this restaurant. I am a fan of its sweet taste and the perfectly balanced sugar in the drink. The restaurant also offers an amazing selection of cakes and sweets. The atmosphere is great and they stay open late every day, making it one of the best places to meet up late at night outside of pubs, closing at 1:30 AM."

"My husband and I have been to The Painted Heron which is now called TPH not sure why the name was changed as the original is very nice many times. This time the menu was changed and it took us a while to decide what to order. The food is always delicious and we will go back. Our friends really enjoyed it."

"Firstly the staff were very nice, the food is also very nice, the negative point would be that there is no one to arrange for you to sit,when tables were free, I was with my husband and my child, we're waiting for seats, some ladies came after us and sat down on two seat to make sure they got table when the people got up, One of the girl from that group even said they are a family waiting for seat to which she replied that's their luck, they should have their seats, we didn't want to intrude others eating that's why weren't jumping on seats, but aside from that I would definitely say this place a try."

"I was extremely disappointed when the food arrived after 1hour of waiting. Ordered two molten chocolate brownies expecting them to be warm gooey and covered in hot chocolate. Haha no, that’s not what was delivered. We got two freezer stored cold cakes with chocolate on top in a plastic case. Also ordered thunder and lightning ice cream, but instead was delivered death by chocolate, so I rang up to explain they had delivered the wrong flavour to be told they had no thunder and lightning in stock so they just switched it without consulting me first. When I said that I don’t want to chocolate one I could hear them in the background trying to tell me that it’s the same thing when it obviously isn’t! While on the phone I asked if the molten brownies are meant to be cold to be made aware that they are stored in a freezer and sent out cold. As a desert place I expected freshly made food especially for the price!! Also after debating with the guy on the phone that the ice creams are not the same he offered to refund me via bank transfer in which the refund is still not appearing to have been made! Would not recommend. Disappointed! Also why does delivery take 1 hour when it’s literally just frozen **** put in a bag and placed at your front door"

"Food was amazing.Couldnt find any fault with the food.But the wait was ridiculous.for over an hour.One of our dishes was given first and had to wait for the rest of the stuffs again. Even though the staff apologized for it as there were short of staff .But what we noticed was that one of the families who came after was given the food earlier than us.They were given even glasses to drink water while we had to ask for a bottled water finally. I would say the customer service wasn't that great .but may get food from here as takeout."

"We went to celebrate my daughter getting new job and took her here for her first visit and she really enjoyed it. We both had our usually lamb Rogan josh which is must have for me and my wife has the chicken makahani so that left my daughter who went with the chicken tikka masala and all three were great dishes. "that is an incredible chaiiwala industry. the best I've ever done. it is so popular, it often caused the blackade of whalley range as autos stacking out to grab a quick cuppa. there are seating for 20 people, sufficient free parking close to and fantastic dining. the personal here is switched on, they are at the pulse. They make you very welcome and nothing is too much effort for them. the omelette wrapped in a chapati was my favorite. the Desi breakfast and Desi tea was absolutely excellent. the best Indian breakfast I had in blackburn. salim patel"

"The restaurant was dirty, both the inside and the dishes used. The food was way too spicy (and I like spicy food). When we spoke to the waiter to tell him this he said we should have asked for less spicy (they should have given us this choice when ordering). A normal curry or dansak is normally spicy but not to this level (Phall level). The waiters were keen, but a bit too clean, when he was taking our dishes away he done this so quickly that some leftover food landed on my trousers. I would recommend that the restaurant is cleaned properly, dishes cleaned properly, ask people what level of spice they would like"

"Saturday morning, called in for a desi breakfast. Uncharacteristically slow and chaotic service today. They just need some more staff to help them keep on top of the orders. Long delays, incorrect orders, stressed staff doing their best. I felt really sorry for them. The food was nice as usual , but the owners need to invest in having more staff. It is a popular place. "#LongReview So, I and my husband decided to visit this place for some good Indian food. (Specifically Pav Bhaji) I made a reservation 1 hour prior ...we reached on time...the waiter took us to a corner table even though the hotel was almost empty with other more comfortable tables to dine at. I requested him 'can we sit there (was a sofa table for 2) '..to this he flatly denied. Okay we kept our cool and sat down to place the order. (Though we were immediately put off by his attitude).
