"On entering, we immediately felt unsure about our booking, with a lot of screaming children running around, and a cramped bar area with lots of families. Whilst we completely understand a pub may be busy on a Sunday lunchtime, it felt more like we had entered a play area. Staff were lovely, friendly, and efficient, but did make a poor judgement in where they placed us. Four adults, will clearly not want to sit surrounded by screaming and out of control children. It would not have been difficult to seat us separate to the families, or try to keep an area at the furthest point where children were not seated. My partner spent a lot of his meal being poked, and messed with by the out of control child behind, combined with children hurtling around from the other room. One family came in right next to us and dumped a box of lego on the floor. At no point did any staff member come in to ask whether the chaos around us was ok, or if we might like to move table. portions were huge, and seemed more based on quantity than quality. We visited when under previous management, and really enjoyed our meal. We were entertaining two people via the business, and we were embarrassed at bringing them. It is such a shame compared to how this pub was previously run."
