The food was fabulous and the restaurant was quirky and buzzing! My 5 Danish friends who can’t really get curry at home were raving about the place and the food! "We went to celebrate my daughter getting new job and took her here for her first visit and she really enjoyed it. We both had our usually lamb Rogan josh which is must have for me and my wife has the chicken makahani so that left my daughter who went with the chicken tikka masala and all three were great dishes. "We live nearby and usually avoid restaurants that serve meat, so we were hesitant to try this one for a long time, even though it seemed quite accommodating for vegans. However, we finally decided to give it a chance last week, and we had a surprisingly wonderful experience. All vegan options are clearly marked on the menu, and the chef even made the dal makhani vegan upon our request."

"The best place for South Indian tiffin in Birmingham, without a doubt. I have had a few visits and the food quality has been consistent. Interestingly, they serve the longest dosa in Europe, which is called the Chennai Dosa special. You should not miss it. Bit pricey but the food quality justifies it. Recommended!"

"Awesome time here always the place to go for cocktails in Leeds. Their new food menu is amazing and ridiculously cheap for Leeds!!! I 'd come here just for the food. But the Zombie cocktail is a must have in Leeds. And Conny the bartender who took my order allowed me to have the usually wasted extra cocktail. This is Yorkshire waste should not happen. Best pub in Leeds!"

"This was our first visit to Zarda which was an achievement in itself as my husband is not too partial to Indian food. However, he thoroughly enjoyed his meal and went so far to say that it was one of the best meals he had recently. Compliments to the chef! The food was very well presented, tasty and portion size good. The only negative comment I would offer is that the restaurant was too cold for dining. The building is very old and probably does not have concrete foundations; the staff had the radiators on, extra heaters and an open fire but it was still on the chilly side. Probably best visited when the weather warms up. Parking is on the street and it was particularly busy the evening we visited. However, I would certainly visit again and have no hesitation in recommending the food."

"Always go by and the food smells delicious, decided to order with them for home delivery. We ordered the Paneer Achari (yes it was so spicy as it says that this was not a favorite with my guest, but I really enjoyed it), Drunken Lamb (we will definitely order again, very tasteful), the rice, with both dishes (big portion size) and finally the Ferrero Desert, which was delicious I just wish they made a larger version of it! Will be ordered again. Delivery time was also good!"

"My boyfriend and I used to frequent the restaurant/takeaway on Dumbarton Road, but have recently stopped going as often due to the lack of friendliness. We used to order our takeaway in the restaurant and enjoy a drink while chatting with the man taking our order. However, they now lock the restaurant and do not allow customers to wait inside or have drinks in the unlicensed takeaway. This was disappointing as we enjoyed the atmosphere and socializing while waiting for our food. Overall, the staff at Papa Gill's are not friendly and the food quality has declined. We will be going to The Ettrick in Old Kilpatrick instead, where we can enjoy great food in a warm and inviting environment. If you are looking for a friendly and enjoyable Indian takeaway experience, go to The Ettrick."

"I booked a table for 17.45 on Mother’s Day to take my wife for a meal. When we arrived the guy at the end of the counter couldn’t find our booking so he said something about ‘Did you get a text from us?’ which I’ve never had when booking through Opentable. He then said they were full and basically made me feel like I was in the wrong . He was rude, aggressive and arrogant. We have been to Kiplings twice before always booking through Opentable and never had an issue. We won’t be going again. Shambles."

"Was a return visit for us and was just as good as we remembered. Service was friendly and efficient, the staff took time to assist with menu selection. "Lovely little Indian restaurant that was very busy on a Wednesday evening. The menu has loads of veggie options and specifically states that dishes can be made vegan on request. There were quite a few interesting dishes that I haven’t seen at other Indian restaurants. We ended up trying four different side dishes rather than mains as they all sounded so good. Would recommend the Pindi Choley (chickpeas) and Baingan Bharta (aubergine). We spoke with the owner who is veggie and wanted more veggie/vegan diners!"

"I have to admit that I was a bit stupid at first sight! the restaurant inspires not the trust from outside and is quite small in the inner but this humble look is the absolute gastronomic genie at the work in the kitchen! the starters were so delicious. the three of the use we had lamm samosas, wobble bhajis, lamb chops lamb something! the seasoned on all dressed were perfect, really rich and tasteful with the right amount of heat that gave them a brand without being too painful as they do with the lamb especially and still preserve the taste of the actual flesh, is nothing short of culinary source! when the net arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find the garlic naan with tiny ribbons of fresh garlic, and it was thin with a flat texture, instead of thick and teig the nets were equally fantastic and tasteful; I had chicken masala and pilau reis and I can honestly say I never have a better curry in my life! next time I am in london, I will visit 100% again!"
