"It's fortunate that we happened to pass by the central parking lot of the monastery, or else we would have missed it: At the far end of the expansive Fürstenfeld monastery complex, where the monks' basic supplies were once handled in the economic areas, sits the brewhouse right next to the mill. The gravel beer garden, previously situated nearby, is separated by the Mühlbach, with the sound of the water passing through the mill in the background. This year, the weather cooperated with us. Inside, dark wood, lime walls, and leather seats exude a strong sense of Bavarian coziness. Modern light fixtures above the large tables provide a stylistic contrast, and kitchen towels hung in the windows offer a touch of privacy. There's no tacky Oktoberfest vibe here. The menu goes beyond the typical Bavarian dishes, though those are also available. I never expected to find tormented eggs with potato snow or air-dried deer ham on the menu! Even the traditional dishes like white sausage or Obatzdn are visually appealing and don't remind me of overly sweet canned food. I have to admit, after just two wheat beers, I can't recall the brand, which is a bit disappointing. The prices here are also on the higher side. The Prosecco with currant juice had a cocktail-like quality and was highly recommended by our server. Overall, we had a delightful snack here and would recommend it to any monastery visitors looking for a cozy meal."
