"All dietary concerns dealt with effectively and service is wonderful but after attending for 6 years every Jan we felt the menu has become a little static although some items like the double cooked soufflé should never be removed as to do so would be a crime against humanity. The food is still superbly presented and beautifully cooked but a change up in the petit fours would be nice and the sugared brioche could have done with a little more moisture that wasn’t a rich caramel sauce as it was a little dry by itself. I’m nit picking though, it’s still a delight to visit but perhaps our yearly pilgrimage may stop now and move elsewhere. I realise this could be quite unfair as I’m sure it probably does change and is tweaked but it’s just the feeling we had at the end of a lovely meal. Maybe as it was venison again for me for the 3/4th time in a row there, I don’t know but it was my wife who commented that much as she adores our yearly start to the New Year tradition, her whisky sour and the food she’d like to go somewhere else as it has just lost something maybe it was just having the same petit fours at the end of the meal as always that left us feeling like that. Service was fantastic as always and please add the mushroom arancini as a starter option. It came as part of the amuse bouche and was the star of the entire 4 courses. One actual complaint for about 10 minutes there was a sewer smell coming from the toilets, which coincided with the arrival of dessert. Not the best combination to smell together. Thankfully the lingering traces were overpowered when the hot coffee arrived and it dispersed them."
