"Myself and 7 colleagues dined at the restaurant for a leaving do. We were seen to promptly, our drinks arrived quickly and the time between our courses were spot on. We were all very happy with our meals as the food was absolutely delicious! We dined at 4:30pm, the atmosphere was a little dry but as I said we were there pretty early for the dinner crowd. The toilets could do with a bit of TLC as they look shabby and dated that would be my only criticism. I will definitely be returning ... Lovely dining!"

"I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. Despite my love for Fierce beer and desire to support local businesses, I purchased 12 cans and encountered a problem with the first can, 'Late Shift.' Initially, it tasted fine but towards the bottom it was filled with a thick, grainy brown liquid that I unknowingly consumed. This resulted in a very unpleasant experience the following day, causing me to reconsider purchasing more in the future."

"We have visited Zara three times over the past decade. The first time, we were served a lamb dish that did not actually contain any lamb. On a recent visit, we arrived at 11:45am only to be told they don't open until 12 and refused to serve us a drink or take our order. Today, we arrived at 4:45pm to find the restaurant only lightly occupied, but were told the kitchen was closed due to being busy. The waitress did not even offer us a drink and said the kitchen would not reopen until five, yet still did not take our order. The requirement of a minimum of two people to order the mixed mezze at £13.50 per person is unfair, as it should be available for any number of customers. Additionally, selling a kebab for £19 is excessive. As locals, we find Zara's service and pricing to be disgraceful. We do not recommend dining here."

Two things influenced the evaluations for the ambience first, the background music was too loud for convenient conversation and secondly the child-friendly aspect. I didn't expect there to be children in sun loungers in the restaurant at 8:00. It's good for parents, but not so much for other diners."

"I 've been to this restaurant a few times. After the 1st time I couldn 't wait to go back. Unfortunately we were one of only a few 2 seating tables that night bang in the middle of tables for 6+ people. A mix of hen parties and other large groups dominated the room. Even the loud music didn 't drown it out. I get that large groups generally mean they get a lot more money, but it 's just not 'couple friendly '. The most recent visit (Sept 2022) we brought a friend and I very specifically asked if we could sit somewhere quiet. It was basically the exact opposite once again. SUCH a shame as the food is very good. That said, I was hugely dissapointed they change one of the potato tapas, not as good as the 1st couple of times. I have now moved up to Yorkshire so won 't be going back. I would still recommend the food, but don 't go if you 're looking for a romantic night with your partner. Service also a bit slow at times coming to the table with the bill, or asking if you want more drinks. I know some people don 't like to be hurried on that, so it 's a fine line, but staff need to look and see if customers are trying to get their attention for such things."

"I came to Leicester from London for a meeting and wanted a snack before heading home on the train. I always try to avoid chain restaurants if possible, so I stumbled upon this small café with good reviews and decided to give it a try. The seating was limited, but I ordered the vegetarian calzone for £3.50 and it was a great deal compared to London prices. The dough was perfectly cooked and the filling was delicious. The service was friendly and it was charming to hear the hosts chatting in Italian. It's not a fancy place for dinner, but if you're looking for a quick and tasty bite, this place is just the ticket."

"Holiday group dinner spent here in one of our meals while in Cirencester as reviews online were very impressive. We had a 5-course tapas sharing set menu. Starters were delicious especially the Iberian platter and the goat’s cheese mousse. The paella was not how we expected it to be. Not much options that day. At the time of writing they got cod, lamb and veggies only. We were expecting a proper seafood paella not only with fish alone. The lamb paella was not too great. The cod paella was so-so. The veggie one was a bit bland. The rice was al dente which was impressive. Churros was also below par. Too skinny. The chocolate dip was great though."

"I went to Le Vieux Comptoir with a friend for a long overdue catch up and the restaurant is a wonderful hidden gem. I 'm not usually a red wine person, but the Malbec was one of the best I 've had! We had a delicious cheese charcuterie board to start which came with a basket of bread. We both ordered the Confit de Canard which rivalled one I recently had in Paris. And the service was wonderful. The staff were friendly, welcoming and made lovely conversation The thing which really ruined our evening was a woman and her friends (see KKSpecialAgent 's review below). When the staff came to clear their plates she responded by saying 'she could have made better at home ' just incredibly rude. Why didn 't she say something before they cleared their plates?! They politely thanked her for her feedback and offered her some bread or a replacement meal, which she declined, before complaining to her friends that she was still hungry. She then spent at least 20 minutes complaining incredible loudly to her friends and all members of staff who came by her table, which ruined the evenings of everyone around her. When the bill came she complained loudly again at the cost, which was very reasonable given three of them had wine, starters and mains. She was so rude that when she went to the bathroom her friends apologised to the staff on her behalf. Honestly, a horrible woman who really impacted my evening! She could have quietly said if there was something wrong with her meal and the restaurant would happily have provided an alternative. Her review is not reflective of the restaurant at all!"

"Both staff and clients were very friendly and helpful. The actual building blew me away, art, music, friendly faces and good food all under the same roof. I visited the Tabernacle for breakfast and ordered the breakfast sandwich, which I thoroughly enjoyed. So much so that I tracked the chef down and heaped praises on him. You must try it it has perfectly ripe avocoda and perfectly cooked poached eggs, and lots more. Felt like a lunch dish rather than a breakfast set me up for the whole day. The food is just one small part of the Tabernacle there's loads to do from yoga to gardening and you can even get free legal advice. Get yourself down there! I highly recommend it."

My only complaint is that I asked to book a table for 9:30PM, but was told they only had availability for 9PM. When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet and there were plenty of empty tables. This meant we had to come straight from work without time to prepare."
