"Recommended as one of the best restaurants in Liverpool, we booked a family meal at Malmaison to celebrate our son's graduation. The staff were pleasant and polite, they were happy to let us have a drink in the bar before going through to eat. The menu is excellent and the food was exceptionally good in fact I would happily have given the Malmaison Brasserie a full 5 star rating for everything, if it was not for the fact that the service was unbelievably slow. I do not believe this was a reflection on the waiting staff who were deeply apologetic. I can only conclude that the kitchen was unable to cope with a very busy night. After an hour and a half we had only had one course. A real shame that rather spoiled a very special occasion."
