"We had Sunday there just now. The service was poor and the roast dinner did not have green veg at all . The potatoes tasted like they had been ‘ warmed up ‘ they were very hard and dry . We used to go to...this venue when it was called Sea Salt and we were happy to pay above average prices and the food and service was good . The Pearl is a restaurant that charges for a bottle of coke and the whole experience was well below par. We waited a long time to be asked about drinks , then other tables received theirs before us altho they came in afterwards . After our meal we were again just left there long after we had finished then they removed the plates and again we waited minutes before we were offered desert by which time we just wanted the bill . We then waited for someone to come so we could pay . My daughter had to get up and find someone who could take the payment . My daughter removed the service charge from the payment . We will not go back. Also accessibilty for disabled ones is not good , I went up the stairs using my walking stick but this restaurant does not accommodate disabled people satisfactorily. In this day and age it is deplorable ."

"This is a real neighbourhood gem. Priced very competitively for its position on Motcombe Street, the menu is varied, priced extremely keenly and changed very frequently. The food is delicious with speedy and attentive service. The wine list sports some very decent examples at a very fair price. Sunday lunch is available for two for under £30 and this too is stunningly good value and exceptionally tasty when we tried it. We are frequent but irregular diners at Motcombes and will continue to be. Its a lovely cosy place and the downstairs dining room (weekdays only) is particularly impressive."

"This restaurant is now called Dolce Italia. We had a table for 5 and were really impressed with both the food and service we received. The fish soup had a tasty bisque quality with fresh sea bass and fresh warm bread. The mushroom crostini looked good and tasted better. Caprese salad was fresh looking and yummy. Mains were also excellent. Belly of pork melted in the mouth, chicken milanese was moist with generous spaghetti in tomato sauce, with fresh tomatoes running through it. seafood linguine had lots of sea food, all perfectly cooked. Desserts were also good. I had the panna cotta, lovely wobble and beautiful taste. Also great value for money, with wine sensibly priced and affordable. Would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be returning."

"What a wonderful time we had. It was my partners birthday which the staff did not until after we arrived but they produced a small cake with a candle. We were offered seconds of beef and Yorkshire puddings and cheese to follow our dessert. The meal was delicious, the staff achieved a perfect balance between attentiveness and not being pushy, the wine was excellent and the surroundings were so comfortable and relaxed. We will definitely be back. Many, many thanks."

"From booking to leaving perfect. Surroundings superb, lovely greeting by staff, overall excellent service. We had afternoon tea on the terrace. The meal was very well presented and a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes, beautiful ingredients and flavours. "our third high-time anniversary was celebrated last night at the plough, and we both found that it is not only unforgettable, but a total culinary experience. the selection of real ales and lagders was overwhelming and personally as a real ale guru I just found it to be perfect. the wide and varied selection of weeping was well explained by experienced employees and disappointed in no way. Good starter and fast table service ensured that we were ready for the main course attack. we were very impressed by the fine meat and the accompanying vegetables. all of them are hot and arrived in large quantities of torf. pudding is just one must and I personally recommend the selection of kent ice creams to challenge the palate. summarizes a fine and worthy meal in a relaxed environment with the customer-oriented staff. we will be happy again very soon for some more culinary delights. they have made our jubilee a night to remember."

"the vine is overrated. for a work dinner and despite the order first my order did not appear for an hour, and that was only after I had chased the staff up. my order was delivered to another table. all the others on my table had delivered their food. When my order arrived, everyone was finished on my table. our one-hour lunch break was over, and I had to hurry to eat. I was paid a pale 2 pounds. "On arrival greeted by a waiter who was wearing a shirt that required ironing and jeans that needed a belt. Directed to a 4 person table, even though there were tables for 2 available. Ordered hummus as a starter for my partner, only to be informed that unlike every other restaurant in the world, it did not come with bread and this had to be purchased separately!! The chips were undercooked and the mixed grill came with a very soggy skinned chicken wing. Overall, the food, for what they were charging, was below par. Wouldn’t rush back to eat there again."

"Me and my partner went to Bohemia for an anniversary meal we had a short break in Brighton i had my table originally booked for but amended to which was absolutely fine. Missed a call, phoned back the number when I realised and see it was a Brighton area code and it was regarding my table informing us the kitchen closes at but we are the last booking but it will not effect our meal we can still order, just not to be late. Perfect. That’s fine. We arrived earlier just to be a bit more helpful, roughly about to then be told that they didn’t have a lot of options left on the menu and as a vegetarian I was restricted to what I could eat as it was. I was told there was only one veggie option left, which is something I knew I wouldn’t enjoy. I was rather rudely told by the waitress ‘well we did try to call you’... to which I did inform her I did call back and it was actually only to do with confirming my booking, no mention of the fact you didn’t have a lot of options left on your menu otherwise we would have cancelled all together. So, we left. Had to hunt for another restaurant that wasn’t fully booked and also not so casual that we felt a bit overdressed for the occasion. I didn’t fancy an anniversary meal in a Wagamamas. It’s a shame because the place looked very nice and I had seen good reviews. I won’t be attempting to visit again"

"We was at first sat on a table which was next to a door that opened onto my chair! After asking to move dinners who came in after us had order taken before us because they were regulars! Another larger table came in and were very noisy, so much for a relaxing lunch by the sea! I had to query the bill as we had a set menu but was charged singularly for items. Didn't have any dairy free desert options. For first visit I was left disappointed, won't be returning."
