"Arrived about 2.30 pm on a Sunday, and it didn 't seem too busy. We had made a booking via OpenTable a few minutes before our arrival. We were promptly shown to our table in a conservatory, which seemed nice enough. We ordered our drinks and they arrived promptly but then we had to ask to order our food as nobody came to our table. The mushroom starters arrived in a reasonable time and were really very creamy but not that garlicky and weren 't served on tiger bread as stated in the menu, but they made a good appetiser all the same. The main which was the roast chicken for both of us arrived again in a reasonable time, and we were given a separate portion of cauliflower cheese , which we guessed just came with the meal. The said cauliflower cheese was a very odd neon colour but tasted ok. The chicken was plentiful but a bit bland, and the array of roasted vegetables and an extremely large pig in a blanket made the dinner more than palatable. We couldn 't manage a dessert as we were rather full, but what we saw other guests eating looked appetising. We asked for the bill, which annoyingly had a 10% service charge automatically added. We would no doubt have left a tip, but this optional charge bumped the bill up significantly. We expected the waitress to ask if we were happy to pay this, but we were not given the option on payment. The full amount, including the 10%, was simply charged to our card. We paid just shy of £70 for Sunday lunch with starters for two with 3 drinks, and we both agreed this was a little steep for what we had."
