"I took my parents out for a Mother's Day Sunday lunch at this pub. I really enjoy the food and the ambiance, but the service is lacking most of the time. We had a late booking after 3pm and by the time we got to our main course, the restaurant was mostly empty. Our waitress was fine, but not very friendly. I always expect great service from this chain of pubs, but it is rarely delivered. Our wine order was initially given to another table nearby, and when it was finally brought to us, there was no apology or offer to open the bottle. Throughout the meal, we were not asked if the food was satisfactory. We skipped dessert, and when I went to the bar to order coffee, our waitress was gone. The manager kindly offered to comp our drinks. It was difficult to get the bill and pay for it, as the staff seemed unattentive. These are basic skills for a good waiter or waitress. It's disappointing because the pub is lovely and the food is quite good."
