"What can I say? Being a local in Balham for 14 years now, I've seen restaurants come and go. Although The Cattle Grid started off ok and was very reasonably priced, I was totally shock to Se the price of the Ribs go up from £14.95 one month to £15.95 this month. These started off at £11.95 18 months ago. Being in the trade and knowing how much there are at cost, it discusts me on how much TCG are charging. And on top of that, they're only edible from Thursday-Saturday. Maybe TCG should seriously think about this issue and rectify it! "Have visited here a few rare occasions when dinning out food is what you would expect in a pub/restaurant though depending on your choice you can see the effort applied to presentation giving you the idea of it being restaurant rather than pub. The HILL can be a busy venue and does offer reservation if your looking to dine out over weekend. Also advise calling ahead if you are going mid week. I have visited when it's busy without calling ahead and lucky enough to be seated within 5 min and ordering food soon after. Service is 100% Staff are friendly, always smile, (although being in west end like most places the staffing can change due to students being employed part time while at uni. They are always chosen well by manager) 100% Cleanliness 100% Appearance 100% 4 stars instead of 5 this is only because on my 1st visit to dine at no fault of the HILL. I was feeling surrounded by the loudness of and over crowded by the pub image. But It isn't a restaurant only so expect it to be louder on busier nights. I could have gone else where on this occasion but chose to stay and have food and I wasn't put off."

"We decided to try this restaurant during our trip to Bournemouth. We were not disappointed. We ordered a falafel and halloumi wrap, a falafel burger, and a portion of chips. The wrap was fantastic, freshly made with delicious sauces. The burger was good too, but I would choose the wrap again. The only downside was that the chips were undercooked and a bit raw. Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely recommend this place."

"Came here for a dinner while visiting Cambridge. We had hummus, babganosh and flatbread for starter. Then mixed shish with rice. We were too full for dinner. The food was great and found it to be good quality. The flatbread was cooked on the grill which was delicious.The waiter we had was excellent, he kept checking we had enough drinks or whether we needed anything else.The resturant was empty when we were there, but this may be due to covid but they had plenty of take away orders and collection orders."
