"Edinburgh is a city that baffles me. The rated restaurants are so far away from the train stations and I can never find the shops that I’m looking for. Everything is so spaced out but there’s no underground to connect it. I’m undecided if the city is actually as confusing as I feel or if it’s just that I’m so used to knowing where things are in Glasgow that I turn into an old frustrated wifey when I step off the train. I also generally arrive in Edinburgh hungry and devoid of the energy needed to sail uphill to my destination. Luckily my resident Edinburger friend knows where she is going so I didn’t end up doing a full-on hike to Vittoria’s On The Bridge. Those native to Edinburgh have probably heard of Vittoria’s since there are two of them and the Vittoria group also have another three restaurants in the city. So I was bound to try one of them soon and we decided on the restaurant on the George IV bridge. After the thousand steps of our journey, I needed some comfort. I was so glad that we’d picked an Italian for dinner tonight. My companion, Miss Edinburgh, had been to Vittoria’s in Leith was signed up to their mailing list so had a 50% off food voucher for us to use so we booked it. We enquired about what it could be used on but we were told we needed a Vittoria’s card to use it. After reading through the terms conditions of the offer and it saying nothing about a card, we spoke to the waiter again and managed to get it sorted. Now that was out of the way we could order. An appetiser of arancini was ordered – rice balls made with mozzarella and bolognese sauce that came with rocket and arrabiata dip. They were crunchy on the outside as they should be and laced with mozzarella inside. I had ordered them because I was interested in tasting the difference between arancini that I’ve had before and Vittoria’s bolognese addition. It lacked the strength of flavour that I was expecting so if I go back I’ll try focaccia or calamari instead. We shared a pizza and pasta for our main course to get the best of both worlds. The menu is massive so to make things easier we went for their signature pasta. Tagliatelle Vittoria was pasta in a sauce of tomato, spicy sausage, mushroom, onion, mincemeat and cream. The menu says it’s their best seller and I can see why. I thought the combination of flavours worked well and the dish was tasty. Veering from traditional Italian, we chose the Hawaii pizza to join the pasta. Ham pineapple may not be gourmet gastronomy but for some reason it works if you are in the mood for it. There were much classier choices but we fancied an old school choice. The base was thin, crispy edges, lots of cheese (probably too much but we did want comfort) and the toppings were delish. It was a high standard of what I think as British Italian pizza – too much cheese, sauce and toppings to be found in Naples so it is a British adaptation of the classic. Our half price food voucher made this the cheapest meal I’ve had in a while but I would have not grudged paying full price. Our shaky start with the voucher mix up and a menu that is frankly overwhelming were replaced with thoughts of a solid classic Italian."

"I eat here whenever I come to Heathrow as I quite like the Itsu chain for their healthy and convenient Japanese style food. Although it 's not like one of those hard core authentic (and usually expensive) Japanese restaurants, it does a healthy take on Japanese food and combines a few Western ingredients such as Avocado and does low carb salads so it 's great for something less heavy before a flight. They have various sushi bento boxes, salad boxes such as Tuna sashimi salad, edamame, sashimi etc. However, if you are looking for real Asian food, you will not find it here as this a very Westernised take on Japanese food combined with the latest health trends. For those who prefer hot food, they have some great brown rice bowls and soups too, although I found the soup to be a bit too salty. My mum had one of the curry brown rice bowls and found it to be pretty good and quite filling. The prices are decent enough, not overly expensive but not super cheap either. Most things are around or less than £10 though. The service was ok, although they forgot to make my coffee so I actually had to go up and remind them about it. They have a nice selection of smoothies and drinks plus a cute panda shaped bento for kids. The portions are perfectly sized; not too big and not too small. In terms of freshness, it 's hard to judge as everything is in the fridge and you just pick out what you want. I saw then restocking it a few times, so I suspect it would be reasonably fresh. Overall: Healthy and convenient Japanese-ish style food that won 't make your wallet cry. Food: 3/5 Convenience: 5/5 Prices: Reasonable Variety: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Seating: 4/5"

"A few weeks back I went to try out Ahi poke´in Fitzrovia, this was exciting for me, as I have not tried Hawaiian food before and I was anxious to know what type of dishes that Ahi poke´serve. With Ahi poke´you can choose their signature bowls, Sweet green, Heat wave, Oahu and Side chick or why not build your own poke´ bowl. 1. First, you choose the base, either brown rice, quinoa, kale, or udon noodles, I always go for udon noodles when eating out, so I decided to do something different, so I chose brown rice. 2. My bowl needed protein, and as I chose a large poke´ bowl, I could choose two protein choices, so of course, I went with my favourite choices; salmon and tuna. 3. To give my bowl and added taste, I mixed the sauces sweet ponzu and sesame shoyu. 4. Lastly, was the topping, for my bowl Edamame, sweet potato, kimchee cucumber, burnt corn and an extra topping of avocado, my bowl was completed and all for 9.95. When picking the bowl, I realised that the bowl was actually quite large but jam-packed with goodness, my choice to go with the brown rice was a great choice, as the brown rice sat nicely with the Tuna and Salmon. The burnt corn gave the bowl an unusual flavour tangy flavour. With the sesame shoyu tieing in a nutty flavour to the bowl. My bowl tasted so good and it made me feel better knowing that all the ingredients used in my poke´ bowl had positive benefits. Brown rice aids in cleaning the digestive system and is high in magnesium. Corn is an antioxidant, which protects the body, from diseases and is packed with lutein and zeaxanthin, which are two phytochemicals that promote healthy vision. Whilst salmon is known to be rich in Omega 3 and fatty acids, it is high in B vitamins and is a great source of protein. It is so cool, that you can mix and match when creating your own poke´ bowl, as the different tastes are endless. For dessert, to cleanse my palette I chose their pineapple chunks in Earl grey sprinkled with coconut shavings. This was a perfect way to end my meal. Left to sit in the Earl Grey residue, the pineapple chunks are both sweet and refreshing. What I love about this place, is the fast pace and the different consumers that come and go out of Ahi Poke´. From the university students, the locals and the office workers, all looking to pick up a healthy bowl of goodness! I also noticed that Ahi poke´ also sells through Ubereats and the orders seemed to be pouring in! So if you live locally, why not pick up a bowl? Price:"

"wow, what a place! just before some weeks were first impressions of the place great, the caffe smells delicious as soon as they go in and the decor is beautiful as being on a tropical island. because it was...unny outside it was nice to come into a shadow and the place was nice and cool. had the double decker pipe that was sooo good! nice and chilled with a really creamy moussey texture, not to chocolate, as diseased, absolutely massive disc. and a soy latte, which was so creamy, no need sugar. the worker who served me was absolutely beautiful, could not do enough for me, so polite and friendly and extremely courteous for vegans, brought me over a vegan menu to check for the next time and me about everything they offer. Finally, I couldn't believe how cheap it was. a five for a huge piece of homemade vegan cake / cheesecake and a latte. have found my new favorite Hunt in rotherham and cannot wait to go back! so excited that we are this place and grateful for their efforts in creating beautiful vegan foods. the love for detail in this place is incredible, so many beautiful little touches that they feel as if they were in the outland in a hot land that goes out from the sun for a sunset and a cool descent. the coffee is delicious, service is not one, very affordable and beautiful desserts, I was a handful of times since my first visit alone, as part of a couple and friends and everyone was impressed."
