"We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Ashford Castle. Gerald greeted us at the entrance, invited us to enjoy the gardens before escorting us to the restaurant. On the way he pointed out highlights of the castle and offered to take our photo. Shane in the restaurant was friendly, courteous and attentive. Impeccable seamless service from staff with a genuine interest in our welfare despite the fact we were not staying overnight. A highlight of our month long trip in Ireland. Priceless experience! "The service at the restaurant was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, that's where the positives end. I paid £48 for three small, bland lamb cutlets. The foie gras tasted like a block of spam. The only saving grace was the delicious lobster bisque."
