"We visited on a Sunday , the staff were welcoming, chatty and polite. We had three courses, the starters were both very good but the soup could have been a higher temp , it was barely hot enough. The desserts were very good, portions just right, a lively finish to the meal. The mains could be improved. The dressed crab was literally in its shell, which was ok but it was served with three pieces of lettuce and two cherry tomatoes, plus some roast potatoes served separately. No effort had been put into this dish, I was still hungry. The roast pork was ok, disappointed to see the gravy already on the plate, one sliver of parsnip, and not well presented veg. The pork was ok, more like a boneless chop, good crackling. We would go back but hopefully some minor adjustments can be made."
