"I can’t say much about the place other than that it was a disappointing visit. I was looking for a restaurant near the river to take some colleagues for lunch, and when I arrived at 1:30 PM, I could hear babies crying from a hundred yards away! There was no indication of this beforehand, and I was really relieved that I checked it out first. This place is definitely not suitable for a work lunch."

"I can't comment at all except that it was a wasted journey. I needed to find a place near the riverside, to take a group of colleagues for lunch.I arrived at and could hear the screaming babies and toddlers from away!No idea this was simply the back of a shop. So glad I went to try it first. Not suitable at all"

"The Fork does not fit well with the rest of the hotel and the hotel would benefit from a more up market restaurant, with The Fork being a bistro for more informal dining and snacks. The menu was uninspired and the staff, whilst sweet, were not always 'on the ball '. There was only one wine menu for the entire restaurant, which got passed around, resulting in a waiting time for the wine to arrive, which was not always before the main meal for some. The waiters didn 't seem to have been working at The Fork for very long and gave the impression that they were still learning and waiting for instruction from the manager. Having said this, the manager was most helpful and apologetic for any waiting times. He just needs to be given a more efficient team to work with!"

"The food was very tasty with a good selection, brilliant salad bar to compliment the mains. Deserts were also plentiful with fresh waffles and pancakes being made. The resturant is in a good spot overlooking the Southwater lake and convenient for the park to work it off in afterwards (for adults and children . My only negative is that it wasn't as clean as it could have been. Crockery and cutlery not washed well so had to root for a suitable plate to use."
"The food at this restaurant was mediocre at best. Many dishes were overcooked and rubbery, with some appearing to be reheated. The salad was starting to go soggy and tasted off, while the noodles were both hard and burnt. Surprisingly, even the watermelon was dry, which is something I have never experienced before. Overall, it was quite disappointing, especially since we came for my daughter's birthday expecting a wide variety of choices but ended up with limited options. The price we paid did not match the quality of the food we received. I would not recommend this place."

"It was my first time eating here and I was very disappointed.the food was over cooked and even the noodles were hard!! The veg on display looked like it had been there for over a week, when the food ran out it took ages for then to re-fill it and having little ones with me who don't like waiting was a bit of a pain!! The kitchen looked dirty so I won't be coming back.only plus side was the staff they were pleasant.."

"If you are seeking a high-end dining experience, this may not be the place for you. However, if you are in search of delicious homemade sandwiches, scones, cakes, and desserts served with a friendly attitude, this is the perfect spot. Our table was arranged in a charming corner of the garden, but we had to relocate inside due to a brief rain shower. Despite being a small inn, The Claremont exudes class and charm. Even if you are the only guest booked for afternoon tea, the staff still puts in extra effort in the preparation and baking of the treats."
