"We used to visit The Duke of Hamilton frequently, but this time we were extremely disappointed. The prices have gone up significantly, while the quality of the food and portion sizes have declined. We ordered a variety of menu items as a large group, and were unimpressed with the corn and chilli dumplings, which were heavy and lacked flavor. The bread was served cold, and the chocolate ganache dessert was a dry brownie with a small amount of cream. The tomato and burrata salad was the only dish we enjoyed.
The service was terrible, with a 30-minute wait for 2 scoops of ice cream for the kids. Despite asking about it, the server failed to check on our order. We had to go to the bar for service throughout our 2.5-hour meal, as no one came to our table. The table and benches felt unstable and flimsy. Overall, we felt cheated by the high prices and poor service. We will not be returning to The Duke of Hamilton."
