"The restaurant is conveniently located and easy to find. It has a lovely atmosphere, although it is small so I would suggest making a reservation. The service was friendly and welcoming. Even if you are new to Eritrean cuisine, the staff will help guide you on what to try. They offer 6 tasting menus for you to sample a variety of dishes. The prices are reasonable and I would highly recommend a visit! 5 stars!"

I am an Ethiopian that is visiting from the states and I have just been away from home for too long I missed the taste of Ethiopian food I searched for an hour looking for the perfect place trying to be as careful as possible to not go to an Ethiopian restaurant that is not authentic and I am so glad I came here!! "we arrived at the restaurant at 18 o'clock and it was quite quiet. our order was taken by a beautiful dame and our table had a look over the whole restaurant, good for the viewing of passengers. for beginners we ordered humus and pitta, which was ok and sambusa (samosa you and me.) the sambusa, which was made with a Filo-type bakery, were also very good and a decent portion size. we had the huh that was delicious, there are also meat and vegetarian options. we look forward to our network, we ordered a good selection to ensure that we cover all the basics. Eat from eritrea is traditionally served on a beb’aynetu (no, I also) that is a large flat pancake-like thing with a chopped salate on the side....read more"

"My friends and I, two families who hadn't seen each other in a while, were in search of a restaurant near The Oval that catered to vegetarians. Zeret Kitchen went above and beyond our expectations. From the moment we made our reservation, the host took the time to explain the menu and how they could accommodate our dietary preferences. The meal itself was incredibly delicious, reminiscent of a homemade feast prepared with love and care (assuming your grandmother was Ethiopian!). I found myself indulging way more than necessary. We opted for the vegetarian combo for the entire group, followed by a delightful coffee ceremony. The service was exceptional, with three friendly ladies running the restaurant who were attentive to our needs, patient in helping us choose from the menu, and never rushed us out even after we had finished our meal. This was especially appreciated as we were catching up with old friends we hadn't seen in years. Their genuine smiles and hospitality made the experience all the more enjoyable. Zeret Kitchen is an authentic gem that exceeds the typical high-end dining experience in terms of customer service. The restaurant is clean, with adequate spacing between tables and the option for outdoor seating. It may not be fancy, but it has everything it needs to provide a truly delightful dining experience. I highly recommend this hidden gem without any hesitation."

"I was looking for inspiration for an InterNations event and came to reach this very affordable, clean and easy. for most of us who visit it was our first time to eat éthiopien kitchen, waaaw everyone loved eating, it was a great discovery of the palette. all ordered Adams special combination dishes to taste the various dishes. the staff was friendly and very helpful, and I loved the fact that I was able to not have my eating too sharp. now for those who never tried injera before as I, I must warn them that it tastes tangie as they added lemon or edgy, but that is because this sponge flat brot from fermented sourdough. the atmosphere, the simple and authentic facility made this restaurant warm and cozy, we really enjoyed the experience and will soon be another event there host. a great thank you to the staff and the cook."

"We were excited to discover a new local restaurant and decided to book a table at Balseros for Saturday night. The Ethiopian cuisine, particularly the cod bowl, was outstanding, and the service was excellent as well. It was quite shocking that we were the only customers there. I truly hope this isn’t the norm because the restaurant deserves to thrive."

"I got it via Deliveroo so can 't comment on the service or restaurant, aside from the fact it came earlier than the projected time. I got the vegetarian platter (in this case, container) and all the five options were amazing in their own way, full of flavour. It came with four injera, and I had the rare sensation of almost not being able to finish it all. Even the Greek salad, which I assumed would be a bit sad, was fresh and full of delish haloumi."

"We have been to Marathon 4 adults and 2 toddlers. We stayed at the door for several minutes waiting for a staff member to open the other side of the door as our prams did not fit. Eventually, one of us had to go and ask a waiter to help. We were sat and they only had ONE baby high chair. Their service was really slow. There was a single waiter who sat at the corner with a laptop and 4 times we had to walk over to his corner to ask for the menu, extra injera and additional orders. Every time, he came with a face that has an expression you owe me an apology . Their food in addition to being slow was not very good either. I have been to Marathon for about 10 years, and I have never seen it at this level of terrible service. Sadly, their good days are behind them. My advice avoid, there are other much better and more friendlier Ethiopian restaurants"
