"I’ve been to Nippon Kitchen many times. I find service is either amazing or poor never in between. The vegan bento box is great value for money and tastes great. Included in the bento box for about £11 miso soup, 3 sushi rolls, veg tempura, 2 dumplings, soy beans, curry and rice. Ordering meals separately, I find is expensive and not worth it. Overall love the restaurant and definitely would go back. Clear, separate vegan menus."

"We entered the restaurant to be told that they only had a limited menu of 10 dishes, which was extremely disappointing as they had no dishes that we wanted to order and we could not leave as we had booked it over a credit card. The waiter was extremely arrogant and not at all helpful. The portion dishes were minuscule and fit for a mouse. There was no flavour in any dish whatsoever. Two of the guests were vegetarian and all the vegetable dishes had a flavour of meat as it was cooked on the same grill. The top that we were told we only had the table for a limited amount of time."

"They didn’t have my reservation when I arrived. The upstairs looks so cute and very Japanese, and they immediately handed me some menus and told me to go downstairs. I asked if we could sit further away from the existing table, in one of the caves, and the waitress said no, they were reserved (they weren’t reserved nobody sat in one of them the whole time). Then another couple came down the stairs while her back was turned and sat themselves in one of the caves and she didn’t say anything to them. Food was fine. Service was very akin to Chinatown rather than an out of the way Japanese gem they rush you to eat, to pay, they add the mandatory service charge and they wanted to close the downstairs so they literally turned off the lights. To me, the food was not worth that attitude or service."
