"We dined in the Emmeline’s Lounge on a quiet Friday afternoon for their Broadway afternoon tea. It comprises four plates: savouries, finger sandwiches, scones and dessert. I always enjoy a good prawn mayo so the prawn marie rose on a brioche bun took my vote. The chefs are innovative in their choices; I’ve never eaten walnut loaf before! Nor have I paired clotted cream with lemon curd on a scone. A true game changer. Their curd is creamy and spreads easily on the warm scones. I can’t recommend the Lion King dessert enough. A wonderful merge of textures/flavours including yuzu! A good sencha too. Chairs here are made for you to lean back and savour the menu! My only concern was that the waiter didn’t pass through the restaurant as often as I’d like. Perhaps because there was only one other couple eating too. Nevertheless, he was jovial when serving. This AT doesn’t break the bank and is truly delicious."
