"Just done a review of The Old Chapel in Darwen but wanted to add that we came here to salvage what we could from a terrible experience. we got a fantastic friendly welcome and were served at our table with great quality drinks. Comfortable and...warm, friendly staff, we didnt eat but the food being served looked very appealing. The menu is attractive and not overky expensive. we are looking forward to visiting and having a meal soon."

"I arranged a meeting and decided to go to a competitor's Indian restaurant, but it was a bit challenging and some of the staff were not very friendly. A friend recommended this place to me, and I was pleasantly surprised by the interior. The menu offered a good selection of dishes for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. The portions were quite generous, and in hindsight, I probably should have ordered a smaller mixed grill, but it was Christmas after all. The Indian mixed grill we ordered was excellent and arrived at our table sizzling hot, creating quite a bit of smoke. The portion size was large, with enough food to comfortably feed 4 people with the included naans. The value for money was fantastic. I also tried the lamb saag, which was tender and flavorful. The sauces and dips were served in a nice presentation, rather than being in large squeeze bottles like some other places. They provided paper napkins, not cheap kitchen roll, and offered a take-home option for leftovers. The staff was very friendly, and I look forward to visiting again in the future."

"As a vegan I really did not have a good meal. The menu shows Vg in the symbols but not one dish is Vg The chickpea channa was nothing more than a few tinned chickpeas with a horrid taste of tin and no flavour. Over priced rubbish. The mini samosa starter was stodgy and insipid The plain roti was good I went home hungry Vegans beware Vegetarian options: Vegan options are dire Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1"

"My brother and his family came to visit from mid Wales, and we decided to have a family lunch at the Soho Tavern, because we had all eaten there pre-Covid. However, this was not the Soho Tavern we visited pre-Covid. There were 5 of us in the party and ordered 3 Medium Soho Grills, 1 Chicken Tikka Biryani and 1 Chicken Karai Pot, I boiled rice and 2 nan breads. The Chicken Tikka Biryani, the Chicken Karai Pot and the boiled rice arrived at the table, but no plates, after 5 minutes, the mixed grills arrived, they were not sizzling as they normally do, I asked for some plates to eat the Chicken Tikka Biryani, the Chicken Karai Pot on, again after about 5 minutes, the plates arrived and they were stone cold, I asked the waiter for some warm plates, again after about 5 minutes they arrived, by this time my food had gone cold, so I informed the waiter, who took it away. He returned with a warm plate and the food. I do not know what was done to the Biryani, but the chicken, which I had tried, whilst waiting when it 1st arrived, it had transformed from a soft succulent chicken into tough/hard chicken. I cannot confirm how it was reheated but it was not nice. This meal was not the standard that we were used to at the Soho Tavern pre Covid, this was very disappointing."

"I would recommend that everyone eat at Dalston Jazz bar for the simple reason that every terrible restaurant you visit throughout the rest of your life will seem better by comparison. We walked in and were confronted with a decor that was presumably aiming for shabby chic but had instead landed squarely on skanky tetanus. We took a table at the back after being told that the one free at the front was reserved. Fair enough. We then splashed out the eminently reasonable price of £32 for 2 pints, a single vodka and (flat) coke and a cosmopolitan so sweet I can only assume they got the cranberry juice mixed up with the Vimto. For some reason all drinks had to be paid for immediately rather than being added to your bill presumably because so many people walk out. Words cannot describe the quality of our waiter at least not words I can write here. When he eventually took our food order he explained that it was a 'pay what you want ' restaurant, before immediately contradicting himself by informing us that each dish held a minimum 'donation ' of £15. What about the foccaccia? I dared to ask. £15 I was informed. Deciding to forgo the world 's most expensive bread we went for the prawns. They had the taste and texture of rubber covered in warm sweet chilli sauce. The chef had taken the unusual step of placing these on top of the crispy salad leaves, making them somewhat less crispy. The accompanying dish of a 'fishcake ' was, in reality, a pile of overcooked mash stuffed with the sweepings of the kitchen, some of which were presumably piscine in nature. The night culminated when the waiter, despite our protests, insisted we move to the long table he had originally said was reserved. Apparently the people who had booked it had cancelled, but our table was reserved (something he hadn 't previously mentioned). We arrived at the already packed long table to find there were only 2 seats for the 4 of us. No problem for our suddenly industrious waiter, who made everyone else shove along until we were so packed that the meaning of an 'intimate dinner ' threatened to take on a whole new meaning."

"I recently returned from a 30+ day tour of Southeast Asia, which included stops in Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. During my travels, I found that Tucan Travel provided the best value for my experience."
