I think I mentioned that none of the six of us had had Xmas Day Lunch out before across combined ages of nearly 350 years! We chose you to celebrate with you as we have always been delighted with the food, ambience and team when we have eaten with you. Christmas Day was no exception … everything was perfect. We loved the food, the atmosphere, service was excellent and not rushed and everyone was delighted with their choices. I would heartily recommend you to anyone for any occasion and handling all your clients so brilliantly during what was a really busy service showed how good you are at what you do. "So, I have been here once before the food was absolutely AMAZING and I have been really looking forward to coming here again The lobster last time was the most amazing lobster I have ever eaten in the UK. a good size, cooked to...perfection! On this occasion sadly, I feel as though the standard has completely dropped. The lobster was mushy which suggests it had not been stored properly (this usually happens when the lobster has been killed and left in the fridge for too long so the enzymes begin to break down the meat) I also found a hair at the side of my plate I let the waiter know and he just said ‘at least it’s not on your food, and wiped it off with his finger’ no apology that was it. I said nothing after this because I could sense by his energy that me saying anything more was going to become a battle I didn’t not have the energy for on this occasion Anyway I started writing my review and the waiter had seen so said ‘it’s that about me’ so I explained to him my concerns with the food. And he said ‘ok don’t damage the business’ He also explained that it’s the same chef etc but in all honesty that’s none of my business, from having such an amazing experience before to this. I am deeply disappointed. He did remove a apple juice and the service charge from the bill and apologised that the food was not the same and hoped we would have a better experience next time. This didn’t do much as I didn’t plan on paying the service charge anyway. Unfortunately I won’t be returning as that was a waste of on a unsatisfactory meal for people."

"Great wee hotel. Exceptional staff who were friendly, chatty, went above and beyond for everyone there, in particular Adam couldn't do enough to make sure everything was perfect for my best friends wedding. Food was lovely, drinks were well priced, free parking for guests. Beds super comfortable, rooms nicely decorated and good size, powerful shower. Everywhere was very clean. Only slight con is our en suite could do with a refurb and the lighting wasn't great in our room, but considering how great everything else was, it's such a small con. Would 100% stay again and recommend to others. Thanks for such a great weekend!!"

"Booked last minute for 9 of us with 2 dogs, despite being busy they fit is in in the garden and we were delighted with the food and charming service. Pizzas were delicious, pasta (bolognese/cannelloni/penne Gorgonzola and seafood linguine) all very good, homemade and great value for money. Highly recommend."

"Absolutely the worst service I have ever had. We entered and asked for a table for two having booked 30mins before on opentable using their 50% off selected dish menu. We were shown to our table, and let the owner know that we had the offer. From the offset, he rudely replied saying that we asked for a ‘table for two’ instead of stating we had booked on the website and so therefore the offer isn’t valid. He then said that we couldnt have the offer as we booked our table on opentable too later for the offer which is not stated anywhere on the website. He then showed us the dishes where the offer applied. He offered us a special starter ‘Caprese’ which we ordered (not included on the offer), a bottle of wine, a risotto(ingredients were not shown on menu) a pizza. We were happy with the starter and let the owner know. This was then followed by our mains. The risotto came and my friend asked if there was any seafood inside the pasta as he forgot to mention his severe allergies to seafood when we were ordering. As there were prawns inside, we let them know and apologised for not clarifying before ordering. He rudely responded saying that most people know that the specific risotto contained prawns we could keep the dish and still pay for it. He refused to believe that my friend was deathly allergic to prawns kept it on the table. After 10mins and a lot of prompting he took it away and replaced the dish. The bill came the caprese was £21. This contradicted the menu price of the caprese on the opentable website which was half of this. The owner refused to explain the price it was labelled on the receipt as ‘special drinks’. We were not charged for the risotto but we were charged for two mains and an indecent price for the starter. With extremely rude/difficult service throughout the meal, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The quality of food did not even justify the despicable service and I strongly encourage others to not go to this restaurant."

"we enjoyed dinner here on Friday night. wonderful food, great atmosphere and super service. recommend for families our two young girls can be picky, but both loved the magherita pizza and pommes. my man and I enjoyed the cattle nachos, which were very similar to the authentic ones we find in the states. we also loved the patatas bravos (sauce very good), the chorizo bites, and the meatballs. everything was delicious and we had a quick service."

"We were extremely impressed by the amazing quality of food at this restaurant. We ordered 8 plates for two people, including appetizers, and couldn't find anything negative to say. It was absolutely phenomenal. The service was excellent as well. Overall, we give it top marks in all categories: Food, Service, and Atmosphere, with recommended dishes including Calamari, Patatas Bravas, Tapas, and Peppers. The price per person for dinner was £50-60."
