"I had been looking forward to dining here for quite some time, and while it certainly was an experience, the food and service did not meet my expectations. I was with a group of ten, and the noise level in the restaurant was so high that I could barely hear the person next to me, let alone my guest at the end of the table. Additionally, the cocktail waiter at the bar seemed disinterested, and it took over 40 minutes to receive our cocktails, despite the bar being relatively empty. If you're seeking an authentic dining experience, this place may be worth a visit, but I won’t be in a hurry to return."

"I used to go to this place regularly with my friends and family over the past few years and always enjoyed the food and service. However, on both my recent visits I have to say that although the food is still delicious, the service of...the waiters in the sitting area downstairs was very unprofessional. One waiter clearly muttered under his breath on both occasions that he should not be taking the orders and that it should be his colleague (who was hiding somewhere in the kitchen, shying away from work). Now as a paying customer you do not wish to see this kind of drama unfold right before your eyes and the second time I witnessed this, I knew I would not be returning. I think the unprofessionalism of the staff is the reason why the restaurant these days is almost empty as opposed to being very popular before when they treated customers with courtesy. There are so many restaurants and eateries nearby that sell tasty food for similar price or even less but without any drama."

"This little food van in the MK market makes the best Indian food ever. Honestly. There isn 't one thing I 've had here that I didn 't like. There are lots of vegetarian options too. The breads are delicious. Everything is delicious. Our most recent visit was a Friday lunchtime and the market was very busy. We sat at a table by the van and watched the world go by as we munched on a veritable feast. The paneer lababda is great, the choley bhature is wonderful, the veggie stuffed paratha is heavenly and the samosas are delicious. On other occasions we have had the paneer tikka wrap and the chicken tikka wrap. Sometimes the chef makes specials . The sarson ka saag with cornbread was excellent and another time we tried the black pepper potatoes which were delicious. The chef is happy to explain about how he makes the dishes if he is not too busy, but lately he has been overrun with customers, which is great for him. He really deserves success."

"My family and I dined at this restaurant with our 6-year-old son. The server was extremely polite and provided helpful recommendations from the menu. They were also very accommodating to our son. The kids menu offered authentic Indian food options. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable."

"The Shikhand was not beaten until the sugar was dissolved, unusual texture of lumps not beaten until smooth I would think it was rushed. Also found more chilli in the Bhajya when ordered first time it was just right but this time very hot cannot taste the lovely chutney. It's all about making it better than it is. Time to get back on track again, as for big occasions no one likes hot chilli bhajyas that blows your mouth open to have anything to cool it and Shikhand to beaten until no lumps."

"the food was really nice. karan our waiter was absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable. can you confirm that he receives the service fee paid after our call? I must say that eating traditionally (the traditional dishes) tasted, but the price and the amount per dish did not match. I would possibly visit after a very long time, the prices would have to change to visit me regularly. ordering 7 starter, 3 main thing, 5 naans, 8 drinks and the bill came close to £200 including service, which are close to fine restaurants prices where I know also the portions would be small. because this is not good, as amaya, chutney mary and veeraswamy, who are their fine dinning bige. to be very critical: starter (parts might be bigger) the hunch 65 was slightly dry, but fine, could also have done with a thicker coating for more taste. real taste of india. Cheeseballs were amazing wings tasted nothing special, would have bigger kebabs were really nice and soft and tasteful chicken tikka really nice paneer that was made in the industry was so good! vada pow could have done with more tastes accompanied chutneys were really nice! main (good sizes) lamb rogan very tasty chicken mangalore again very tasty and spicy If you're looking for a waiter, let me know. @nayanenvy on instagram. many thanks!"

"Food was good only bad dish was the lamb chops which had good flavour, but for the price they were too thin and were very burnt. Also the service was not good, there was only guy taking the orders, serving the food and cleaning tables. The starters took about minutes to arrive, which is too long for the dishes ordered. At least two people are needed at the front- not just one."

"I'm here at 12:00 with my wife. it is more a caffe than a raised restaurant. seat approx. 15/20. very simple and clean place, but this is not distracting from the beautiful kitchen. we ordered fresh search (lamb) kebabs, chicken, lamb. curry and tandoori roti’s. the food was quickly served and was very tasty. we really enjoyed all the food. they served it with an salate (PK style, swash, and bits gurke, salate and tomaten) and a raita (picky yogurt). eating was really delicious, fresh and really cheap. we have approx. £12 paid. nowhere in front of place is so cheap and tasty. not really a place for couples or family, but worth a try. cafe environment so not expect much of decor or atmosphere. we were in and out in 30 minutes, will definitely go back when over."

"Tasty Indian food at super affordable prices in the heart of London. Located next to a YMCA and university campus’, this place attracts students and travellers alike. Great for grabbing a homely cooked meal if you’ve on a low budget. If like myself, your student and life on the roads days are behind you and you have a little bit more money to spend, there are lots of other great vegan places to go for lunch. The food was good but it wasn’t great. Super friendly staff and I would go back but I probably wouldn’t take company. Its not exactly ladies who lunch material. * next day edit After much thought, I’ve increased my rating from three to four stars. And here is the reason why. I ordered a second meal because the first one didn’t fill me up. But after eating 1.5 lunch meals (took some left overs home), I was comfortably full. So much so I didn’t need dinner. The next day, my body felt great. At the time I was eating the food, I wasn’t conscious of this because the food was a little bit on the oily side for me, especially the wrap and stir fry veg that came with the daily lunch. But the food digested really well and was clearly very wholesome and nutritionally rich. For that, Thenga Cafe deserves an extra star. Updated from previous review on 2022-03-02"

"Where better to have a full English halal breakfast than Jasmine's. An excellent menu a variety of options . At £9 you get 2 x sausages, turkey bacon, beans, hash brown, scrambled eggs, toast and mushrooms. Delicious too. Did not have to wait long to be served and for the food to arrive. Great service too. Latte was good too as we're the hot chocolates. Just under £60 for a family of 5 is solid value. As it was Sunday you can park on a nearby road. Only minor quibble for the management to take on board is it was a little cold inside perhaps have some heaters nearby."

"The biryani at this restaurant is not authentic dum biryani, but more like curry rice mixed together. The korma I had was sweet and tasted mostly like coconut, lacking other spices that should be present in a korma. The portion size for the price was disappointing compared to other cuisines like Iranian or Turkish where you get more value for your money. The restaurant may not have a premium look, so the high price they charge is quite puzzling. If they are going to charge a high price, they should justify it with better quality and taste. Many of the dishes seemed stale and not fresh. Overall, the food was below average and not worth the price. They also charge separately for rice and curry, unlike other places where they come together in a combo meal. I would only recommend trying this restaurant if you are extremely hungry and have no other options."
