"I have visited Maine a few times, and it rarely disappoints. However, my birthday experience at The Maine Restaurant was an exception. Here’s an honest review of that night: Firstly, I must commend the beauty of this hidden gem. The open space and cute setting make it perfect for a lunch outing, especially outdoors. For a fabulous and glamorous night, the dinner setting with great entertainment and performers offers an unforgettable experience. The food at The Maine is top-notch, with options ranging from small bites to hearty feasts, all presented beautifully. The staff deserves praise for their excellent service. For my birthday dinner, it was just me and my sister. We had a reservation for two at 10:30pm. We arrived 30 minutes early and were warmly greeted by the security and receptionist, who guided us to the bar to wait for our table. As someone who doesn’t drink, I don’t enjoy spending much time at the bar. However, our bartender, Edgar, kept us entertained and apologised for the 40-45 minute delay, which was appreciated. When we were finally seated, my sister was impressed with our table’s view. We were greeted with champagne/prosecco, which my sister enjoyed immensely. The service was outstanding, and the entertainment, including live bands and burlesque performances, left us speechless. The food was delicious; my sister had pasta and I had lamb chops. Update: Unfortunately, the next day, both my sister and I fell ill. We woke up with feverish symptoms and severe headaches. While my sister recovered quickly, I was feeling nauseous on top, I had to be rushed to A&E due to food poisoning. I have been trying to contact via call, seems like no one is picking up. In summary, while The Maine offers an exquisite dining experience with excellent food, service, and entertainment, our unfortunate bout of food poisoning the next day marred the overall experience."
