"Not sure if this venue has changed hands but its definitely took a nose dive. Slow delivery, driver didnt have right change and we ended up out of pocket. Forgot some of our order too! Ordered a Margarita Pizza and ended up with Cheese n...bean Pizza! Why would you? It was awful. Chicken was dry and inedible. Shame as it's location is prime and very visible. Cleanliness has always been good, as is the price, but serve up poor quality food and you'll end up out of business. Not a good experience.... "I ordered kebabs for me and a friend last night. when they arrived, they were completely burned and the chips tasted. my friend called them to say they were burned and unusable, but halfway through the conversation they put on him....When he called back to ask for a refund, they said it was not their fault, it was burned and then they began to say that they were closing, so nothing they could do. they didn't even apologize and I paid for eating that we gave to the dog. I'm not fussy, but it was like coal. they must also improve on the salat side. it is missing and no chilis. I will never use this place again. they sent out terrible food and refused to return my money. the most expensive piece of dog food."

"My visit here was a total shambles. Before I asked to only have one waitress serving us, I ordered a drink, one waiter took the order, another delivered it and when I asked to pay the bill, another waiter appeared asking if I would like to pay the bill. When I said I had already asked for the bill, yet another waiter appeared to once again ask if I wanted to pay the bill. Please can someone get the waiters to talk to each other to avoid this constant barrage of people asking for information they already had. During this process our table host kept on coming over to ask if everything was OK, which clearly it wasn't and then didn't really listen to our answer, he just laughed. Then he kept on standing watching the football match directly in my way as if we weren't there The food was ok, ribs were poor, the salt and pepper squid had raw cayenne on the outside which was unpleasant and the chicken wings by all accounts were fine On a visit to the loo, there was no loo paper and no soap in any of the dispensers Overall the feel is that management are out of their depth and someone needs to take charge to ensure things run smoothly sooner rather than later. If you are going for a drink and to watch the sport then it could be a decent venue if they sort the leaderless waitering team out, but there are much better sports bars in London based on my recent experience."

"Lovely cafe serving yummy food! After trying another cafe that was too busy, we found Home Café, and went in for a breakfast. The three of us ordered a breakfast, and milkshake, it was absolutely delicious. The cafe itself had a nice atmosphere and was just off the main street opposite SportsDirect."

"absolutely disgusting. Not only was the order scheduled for over an hour after order, (ok can’t help that) it was then pushed back and arrived nearly two hours after order was made. Not only was it late the food was diabolical. Clearly re-heated. Chicken was...tasteless and hard. Chips were soggy and hardly any potato to them. Honestly what a waste of money. Couldn’t eat any of it after tasting how disgusting it was. Also a let down to find out that their hygiene rating is a , no surprise there though!"

"Nice little restaurant. We feel the sushi selection was a bit poor and had weird and extremely random combinations. An easy fix. Trying to be too quirky. Comments/criticisms: I understand times are difficult but it’s very overpriced. £5.95 for two bits of rice with...a sliver of salmon on top. (nigiri). Cream cheese and fruit sauce should not be in any rolls anywhere! Crabstick. No. Just no. Soft crab please ! 6 pieces of certain rolls. Should be 8. Turn nori 90deg? Katsu chicken curry was very nice but the panko coating came off every single piece. Noticed the Gyoza was crispy as if deep fried?! I requested no cream cheese. When the rolls came out it was pretty clear they’d put some on then realised so removed it. It was clearly visible on every piece. The unenthusiastic young waitress responded with “well I asked for it without cream cheese”. Just left it at that. I would definitely go back but would need a menu revamp for the sushi and change in the pricing as it’s way off the mark."

"I placed an order through the Uber Eats app with an expected delivery time of 1 hour. However, after waiting for 2 hours and 40 minutes without any update, I called the restaurant multiple times only to receive a 'line too busy' message. When I contacted Uber for help, they cancelled the order on my behalf as they were unable to reach the restaurant either. The order finally arrived 20 minutes later, totaling 3 hours since I placed it. I chose not to accept the food, as I assumed it had likely become cold during the long wait in the delivery van. Additionally, the food was not reasonably priced for a small fast food spot. I could have easily ordered a better quality curry or Chinese meal for a similar cost. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning."

"The customer service at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. I was very unhappy and will definitely not be using them again. The driver, who was the restaurant's own courier, did not knock on the door or ring the doorbell, causing my food to arrive cold and unappetizing. I was extremely disappointed and cannot stress enough to others to avoid this place, as you will likely be let down and waste your money on a poor service with no satisfaction. Please steer clear of this restaurant. I also have footage from my Ring doorbell to prove the lack of service."

"Good selection on the menu. For starters we had the celeriac and the scallop, for mains the hanging seafood skewer and the muscles. All were very well done. Not exceptional but very good. No complaints about any of the food. We shared a cheese board, only comment would be there could have been a tad more cheese, though this is a pretty common issue with restaurant cheese boards. The wine choice was also good, and lots of choices of good wines by the glass. Service was very friendly, nicely informal. Didn't feel rushed, we were seated for a tad over 2 hours for 3 courses. Positive feedback for the toilets, very clean!! The aspect we scored least was value. Not really specific to On The Quay, but generally we've noticed how much more it costs for a 3 course meal with drinks. All in all a very pleasant evening."

"I was very disappointed that they got the job wrong and gave me sweet potatoes (which I couldn't eat) instead of the vegan baked rolls I was looking forward to the experiment. their Cheesy chips had a teespoon size of sprinkle rubber cheese, I had to add my own and heat them up. the same went for the pizza, very little cheese, chewing teig and very limp looking and tasting veg. they were also half an hour too late. not recommended."

"My first time there. Ordered half peri peri chicken to go with chips and drink. The chicken was literally raw under the top layer with blood oozing from it. Disgusting! I was worried I would get food poisoning as I’ve eaten some of it in the dark before tasting blood. See the pictures. Had to go back there to show them. The lady at the counter couldn’t believe it either but didn’t seem sincerely sorry, however, she half-heartedly blamed the guy at the back and offered to refund me. And immediately threw it in the bin without consulting the guy at the back of his mistake. It was late at night and opted to be given the same but making sure it’s properly grilled this time. Again, coming home, the second peri peri I got wasn’t properly grilled either and was quite ‘watery’ on the inside. I had to throw away most of it. I don’t know about their other meals but I wouldn’t recommend their peri peri chicken to anyone!"

"We had booked a table for 7.30 pm dinner and after waiting in line we’re shown to a table. The table next to us was very very loud and discussing business on a Saturday night. We could not hear each other above their din. After 30 minutes a waiter came to take our order and we asked for a quieter table. We were told to walk outside to the terrace. Essentially this is an area in the thoroughfare of the hotel (inside) behind a wooden low fence. After another 20 minutes I went to find a waiter who said he would come out to take our order. After another 10 minutes I went and found another server. The waiter I had seen before recognised me and hit his hand on his head and came out to us. The starter was delicious but we had to chase up the bottle of wine and never got our glasses of water. When the main course was delivered by a lady she said “Bon appetit” but we said we couldn’t eat without cutlery. She promised us some but we never saw her again. After 5 minutes my husband went and found cutlery because his fish and chips were getting cold. My shepherds pie was tasteless, lots of potato and a thin layer of lamb in a watery tasteless gravy. Nobody ever came back to check on us. They add a discretionary 12.5% tip for a service charge which I didn’t think they deserved so we took the bill to the desk and told the manager of our experience. He blames the management for trying to reduce staff and told us it was our own fault because we voted for Brexit. I pointed out to him I didn’t. He said it is like that every night. He removed the service charge and 20% off the food which was fair but next time I stay at the Sofitel I will bring a picnic and save a pot of money and disappointment."
