"Blatantly refused to serve some firefighters who I allowed to go in front of me in the queue. They obviously had to return to work and were very polite and smiley, as I wasn't in a rush I allowed them to go in front of...me and so did another person. However, even as they reached the front of the line the man refused to serve them and the firefighters were evidently very shocked at the blatant. One of the other people who worked there offered to serve them but the gaffer said that he didn't want them served. The server got quite enraged and began shouting in another language, he looked like he wanted to jump over the counter Honestly, just a little outraged at this situation, especially with all of the black lives matters movements going on and that my children saw the blatant discrimination. Didn't even really want to eat the chips knowing that the firefighters probably wouldn't be eating that night"

"we have chippys much closer to us, but we always travel these few miles extra to our favorite chippy. the staff is always friendly and welcoming eating is lavish and there is always a lot to do if they don't have their normal fish and chips. the chicken curry and chili are to die and the pig ham melt in their mouth and they even have a healthy option if they have pleasure, a jacket spud instead! awesome place recommend it"

"I have never spent my money on something where I genuinely felt that the staff laughed at me when I went home. I dont mean laugh as i left. I mean full on belly busting laughed. This meal was more grease then meat after half way through trying to eat It I started feeling alittle sicky, I then thought ill give what is left to the dog. Now to be fair to the dog he is a stray and a dog. The dog wouldn't eat it Please avoid this shop 1* is still to high"

"After three of us middle after guys trawling the centre from 21:30 on a Thursday night we resigned ourselves to get f c. A lot more trawling and at 22:00 we spotted this down a side road of West Street. Empty but with fish in the hot display. We ordered a variety of small fish, chips and curry sauce. The server just grabbed whatever fish was in the display and threw some chips into polystyrene trays. No refrying. For all we knew they were large fish at small prices. The chips were tough cut and soggy style, The fish batter was soggy and had an unusual taste of a blend everything that may have gone in there the past week. as Pescatarians we probably had meat flavoured fish but it was late and spring rain so we were happy. As we are other people popped in to buy their late supper including a very dapper chap in a pink suit being ferried around in a taxi. The place seemed to be popular, although it was the only f c around apart from the Frog Parrot opposite where the kitchens were closed. We sat outside to eat on a bench as the train spat at us. The reviews seem a bit harsh but this sites the trick. Normally I head for #1 but 1365/1367 is fine for us! Total bill was a correct £17 between the three of us."
