"This restaurant was a bit of a disappointment given the good reviews. We ordered the mixed platter but only received 3 of the 4 items set out on the menu. When we complained the waiter insisted that Onion Bhaji and Vegetable Pakora was the same item, which I know it's not. We still got charged the full price. The waiter also cleared the plates while I was still eating, which I found rude. The restaurant was 3 quarters empty so no need to rush us. Food was average. I will neither return nor recommend this establishment. Given the vast number of Indian restaurants you're bound to find somewhere better."

"Fantastic, flavoursome, fresh meals. Often curries are heavy with ghee but these were wonderfully light and the flavours really shone through. We had the garlic chilli chicken, the masu lamb and the 21 spice chicken, all delightful. Definitely coming here again."

"We visited as a family of 4 at 8pm on Friday night and the restaurant was not at all busy; three other tables. There was no sign of any staff when we walked in and after 5 mins a grumpy waiter appeared and we were seated. This waiter was very disinterested all evening. A second waiter appeared a bit later who was very cheerful and really lovely. Eventually we got our drinks and placed our orders. The dips that came with our poppadoms were freezing cold!!!! That’s a first!! And they were not good!!! The food, when it arrived, was tasty and hot but VERY salty! The grumpy waiter really spoiled things for us and was very slow to do anything at all considering how quiet the restaurant was."

"Went with my wife, daughter and het husband on a Saturday night (20th Aug). No problems with either the food or service given to us. What we all had an issue with was that there was an added 10% service charge added to the bottom of the bill. Neither the menu nor staff mentioned a service charge. Others were not as savvy as we were and left cash tips which were readily taken by waiting staff (so they in theory tipped twice). Will we be going to Ali T again. No due to sneaky tactics to make money out of customers."

"Update 2023: Against my better judgement I thought I’d give this place one more try, and it was a mistake. The food was actually worse than I remembered. The fish was freshly cooked this time which gave me false hope of an improvement, but unfortunately I was to be left disappointed again. Had to be the greasiest fish I have ever been served. The batter was completely saturated, was very thick, and had broken into pieces during cooking so the oil had soaked the fish inside too rather than steaming it inside a light, sealed batter case how it should be. I now feel like I’ve drunk a litre of cooking oil. The chips were soggy, limp and also extremely greasy with not the nicest flavour. No complaints about the mushy peas though they are evidently capable of microwaving those without ruining them. The portion sizes of the cod and especially the chips were very large for the price £9.50 for cod, chips and mushy peas) but this was a definite case of quantity over quality. I wish I had gone somewhere else instead and will not be returning. I would recommend that the owners pay a visit to Silver Sea in Frimley Green for an example of how properly cooked fish and chips should be and hopefully pick up a few tips. Original review: Not great. The fish is pre cooked rather than being cooked fresh to order, and kept warm in the counter for who knows how long before being served. Heavy, greasy batter. Average chips. Not recommended probably the worst fish and chip shop in Farnborough, which is a shame as it is my closest one."

"I made a reservation on Saturday morning for a dinner for two that same evening. I was shocked when I arrived at the restaurant to find it was a construction site, complete with bags of rubbish outside and workers inside. Despite this, I had still been allowed to make the reservation and even received a confirmation email. Thankfully, there was a fantastic 5-star restaurant called Chef Muntaj just a few doors down that was able to accommodate us. The food and service were outstanding and offered great value for money. I highly recommend Chef Muntaj. I will never use Opentable or Nawab again."

"Been meaning to try Gooden Curry for years, usually eat/order at the Viceroy in Windsor. Finally tried a delivery from Golden Curry after a day of decorating and sadly, extremely disappointed with the quality of the food, I haven't even finished it yet as I felt compelled to leave a review. Onion bhaji's are very very dry, crumbly and flaking, like they have been cooked hours ago and kept warm/reheated. Mint sauce accompanying the popadoms is luminous green, akin to playdoh, doesn't look appetising, so I will bin that. The keema rice is pretty tasteless and also has luminous green rice thrown in, I'm seeing a pattern here. Lamb jalfrezi is totally bland and apparently devoid of spices or chillies. And the garlic naan is dry, crunchy and again feels like it's been sitting for a few hours prior to being delivered. Very disappointing meal overall, the only redeeming feature is the speed of delivery, although I would have preferred to wait and have a decent meal. Really poor for nearly £50 and I will not be using Gooden Curry again, in person or for delivery. So disappointed...."

"I have ordered from this one a few times and almost every time I have had a problem. The first few times they got my sisters order wrong and when she called up to ask if she could have the right order they were rude to her and said they wouldn 't do it. She had ordered the garlic dough balls and instead got the chicken strippers, we are vegetarians so asked if we could get the garlic dough balls delivered as we got the wrong one and they refused to and told her even if they did she wouldn 't get them for 2 hours and they would be cold! The next time I ordered from them I ordered delivery again and when I paid the man with £20 cash he said he couldn 't accept it because it was a Scottish note okay fine, although I have never had Scottish money refused before. So I explained that I didn 't have my card on me and he said I would have to ring the shop, I was babysitting my niece at the time and she was upstairs so I said I needed to get her dressed ready for bed first and then I would come down. When I came down he was on the phone talking to his friend which I thought was weird, when I tried to ask for the number he told me to hold on as he was on the phone??? Then when I asked him again he said to his friend hang on I need to call you back and then when he got off he told me he didn 't know it and that he would just take the £20. I think this was extremely rude and really poor customer service. However, the times they do get the orders right the food is good."

"There were two of us dining this evening. The food was fantastic – from the appetisers to the main course and the side dishes! My virgin strawberry mojito also tasted absolutely amazing. What we’d particularly like to highlight is the outstanding service! In London, we often had the feeling that, as tourists, we weren’t treated especially warmly – perhaps because we were only visiting once. But in this restaurant, it was the complete opposite. All the staff were incredibly friendly, courteous, attentive, and even paid attention to small details, such as explaining various spices. Keep it up! We were truly impressed!
