"We made a reservation for dinner at a popular restaurant and informed them about it when booking. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a man wearing casual jeans and a pullover who seemed uninterested. We were seated at a table in a back room with little ambiance and a limited menu printed on a sheet of paper. Another well-dressed young man attended to us occasionally. While waiting for our food, we overheard someone at the bar answering the phone and informing the caller that the restaurant would only be serving drinks as the chef was on sick leave and the restaurant could not survive the summer. Despite these challenges, the main course and starters were well-prepared and presented. Our total bill of £63, including a bottle of merlot, was reasonable. It was disappointing to see such a popular restaurant in this condition. Chris Wood."
